Would you trade our 1st and future 2nd for Phillip Rivers and SD's first? SD over values Matt Barkley and trades up to secure they get the USC QB who can bring fans into the stands and prepare the team for a move to LA if they don't show up. If my trade is weak, what would it cost? I would trade our future 1st if it was required. I would trade Weeden for a 3rd or 4th or maybe a player like Kyle Wilson. Draft Chance Warmack with SD's 1st and sign defensive free agents and the big name WR if he would come. What would you do to get Rivers and how would your offseason look? Or do you hate the idea? |

Do you dislike Rivers or the trade? Is it unreasonable? |

If it is true that" SD over values Matt Barkley and trades up to secure they get the USC QB…" Then we get their 1st, 2nd & 3rd this year & their 2nd & 4th next year & we draft BPA. I'd be ok ** BUT I DON'T WANT PHILLIP RIVERS! Go Browns! |

So reuniting with Norv and Chud would be a bad idea? Good oline, Gordon, Little, Benjamin, Cameron, and Richardson. I think that has potential of the VJackson, Floyd, Gates, and LT days. Not comparing the players, just overall offense. |

I'm not sure what I'd give up for him. If the Browns are going to trade for a quarterback, I'd prefer to go after a younger one.
It's funny that people think Rivers is garbage. He had one down year and now people act like he's one of the worst QBs in the league. Most years of his career he's been one of the best QBs in the league. _________________ Cleveland Browns Forum Hall of Fame Inductee |

Quote: | McCoy cited the presence of Philip Rivers as a primary factor in accepting the job. The respect is mutual. "Of the potential candidates, I can honestly say this is the guy I was hoping for," Rivers told XEPRS-AM on Tuesday. "I feel great about it." Jan 15 - 6:33 PM |

In the words of Bill Bellicheck... Diminishing skills.
Doesn't have the elite arm that he once had and cannot adjust. Still tries to think he can make throws that he cannot anymore.
Also he is somewhat of a head case and is 31 going to be 32. 6 years ago i may make that trade. _________________ “From the ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring; renenwed shall be blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king.” -- J R R Tolkien LOTR |

Next option then is Alex Smith? I don't hate the idea of Weeden starting in 2013, just weighing my options. |

Alex Smith will cost a pretty penny to get him.
He was performing at a very high level when he went down with injury, and 49ers have no reason to release him. _________________
