Had he been motivated by "loyalty" he would have left as soon as Smith was canned. Word is he did not want to be a co-ordinator.
He moved on to a job he preferred in a place he preferred. |

| Quote: | Why is Rod Marinelli no longer the defensive coordinator of the Bears? My thoughts:
It has nothing to do with Marc Trestman. The new head coach of the Bears clearly was open to accepting Marinelli as his coordinator, and Phil Emery clearly was on board with that scenario. Marinelli, however, didn't feel comfortable after the Bears cut ties with Lovie Smith. He felt he should move on with Lovie, and the Bears allowed him out of his contract to honor his wishes. |

He likes to mix it up but he won't expose his defense to get beat by one play.
If he doesn't believe his secondary will hold up from a blitz, he won't send one.
Likes to zone blitz and overload blitz.
Will adapt to personnel when necessary.
You'll enjoy his defense. _________________ People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Nah, he just keeps it as simple as possible so players can think as little as possible, which works well when players are fresh.
Loves the prevent defense though _________________

He should be highly successful in Chicago.
1. Chicago loves defense
2. He will inherit four players ranked among the top 100
3. One is a hofer
4. Four All Pro's from D-line to LB to CB
5. If the Bears offense becomes as good as advertised and floats all boats, the market is huge and generous. _________________ "I have to keep playing so people over 40 will have somebody to root for on Sunday afternoons." George Blanda who played until he was 46 |
