I think Billy Winn will be starting at DE. He'll be a great fit there I think. Cleveland just needs another ILB and another OLB and that could be one heck of a defensive front.

Except Phil Taylor is a NT.

Love this hiring for the Brownies. If the draft an edge rusher in the 1st I think that'd be a great piece to add

He wasn't our NT in the 4-3.

This is the only hire I am actually impressed with,.

Not saying Chud and Norv wont work out, but they are being horribly overrated. Chud has never been a great OC and has never been head coach, and Norv is good with QBs but isnt anything special as an OC.

Horton should be a nice hire. Did well with Arizona. Interesting to see how they transition back to the 34.

Interesting since Ahtyba Rubin was and has been our NT even after we drafted Taylor.

What he's saying is Taylor is more of a NT in the 3-4, which I kinda agree with. I'm sure Taylor will do fine at DE, but I think he'd be a lot better player at the nose.

Yeah, Rubin played pretty well we were in the 3-4 with Rob Ryan, plus Taylor will be a pretty nice fit at 5 tech

TBH, after watching Taylor for 2 years, i honeslty think he is able to play 3-4 DE.

I think he would be fine there.

Major holes at ILB and OLB exist and the thought of Sheard dropping into coverage scares the [inappropriate/removed] out of me.

I do expect us to use a good portion of our 3rd most cap room to sign some guys on defense.

I'm hoping we can get at least Kruger or Spencer for one spot.

I thought we had the second most cap room. Plus D Jackson is useless in the 3-4 so we might trade or cut him freeing up more room.

So was Ryan Pickett. Made an excellent 5T for Green Bay.

Kudos Browns, you might just compete for the division next year with the coaches you have. Horton is an amazing DC. Arguably the best in the game.

Too bad Turner is overrated, Horton won't pan out in my opinion and their coach is going to be out of town in 2 years... And I don't say this as a Steelers fan. I say this as someone who never liked the HC signing in the first place.

Let's not get crazy. Good hire for the Brownies though. I think they could be a top 10 defensive team within 2-3 years.

Horton won't pan out why? He has already done the EXACT same job in Zona.

Turner is a terrible HC but a pretty decent OC who will run the same system that Chud runs.

I have no idea how Chud will be, i have a pretty good idea that Turner and Horton are good coaches.

If it doesn't pan out, it will most likely be to poor drafting and not the coaching.

And this is the first hire by Jimmy Haslam, whether Chud does well or not, he won't fire him after 2 years.

Well, you sound like a Steeler fan. I understand reservations about Chud. But Norv and Chud together is a really strong combo then hiring on a brilliant defensive mind like Horton? Sounds like a match made in heaven.

Their offensive personnel best fits Chud's offense.
