Dear god, please come to the new dirty south in Jacksonville, Ray. |
You realize that when it's "dirty" because of a larger population of senior citizens, that's not exactly the type of "Dirty South" that's appealing to people. Particularly a young whippersnapper like Ray Horton. |
I think you have Jacksonville confused with Palm Beach. |
And I think you have Palm Beach confused with Naples and Sarasota. _________________

Arians is a pretty laid back guy in general, but him and Ben were close friends in general and were neighbors. _________________ Kickers are people too |

I don't. I think you're confusing West Palm Beach and Palm Beach. 52.7% of the Palm Beach population is 65+. It's retired elderly central.
Regardless, Jacksonville isn't that heavy on the elderly. It's mainly Suburbs with some really bad urban areas.
But Naples and Sarasota are also acceptable answers. _________________

I'd love to see that trend reverse though and Horton come here to be Lebeau's successor. |

I like Keith, but Horton is arguably the best active DC and I'd like to get a new mind in Pittsburgh than bring in someone who will likely try to be more of a Lebeau clone, since our current defensive front has different strengths than what Lebeaus playbook calls for up front. _________________ Geno Smith, Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, and Bruce Irvin will all have at least 1 pro bowl season each by the end of the decade.

Only downside I see for a team looking to add Horton is that it's likely that you'll only get 1 year out of him and then you're looking for a DC again next year when he finally gets hired as a head coach. Good problem to have, though. _________________ "The really important kind of freedom involves attention, and awareness, and discipline, and effort, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them, over and over, in myriad petty little unsexy ways, every day.” |

Everyone thought Ray was going to be a HC this year, and then even his current team (inexplicably) passed on him. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Already is. Arians does not want him on staff either. Someone is going to get a great coach. |
The Rams should jump on him. _________________

For me it is more a case of hiring a guy with the same football philosophies as the guy you just fired.
Where is the sense in that. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

I think it has a lot more to do with the fact that the Cards fired Whis and essentially re-hired an older version of him, which is going to result in the loss of Horton and realistically hurt the quality of the D at least somewhat. Add to this Arian's contract...4 yrs with option for 5th and he's how old again?!? _________________

I'd advocate that but he runs a 3-4 and I'm not really sold on our 3-4 fit. _________________
