I think this fits well. Ken will have to report to Mike McCoy which will keep some of the decisions in check. He is not going to have a huge part on personnel which was Ken's biggest issue.
Rivers should fit very well within the offensive schematic that Ken will want to run. Will be interesting to see how he is going to utilise the running game, but he is going to run a passing game that is both explosive, and effective if you have a QB who can complete the plays that are given to him. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Whiz, Hue, or Caramichael were my top three choices.
It is early, but McCoy is off to a great start in terms of building a top flight staff. |

We'll see who he picks to coach the offensive line. _________________

Please not Russ Grimm. Please not Russ Grimm.
khodder feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but not ALL of the progressive fail that was that OL in Arizona over the past couple years is expressly on lack of providing proper talent. Had Grimm yet developed a single noteworthy OL in that post? _________________

1 - Russ and Ken will NOT under any circusmstance be working together, Long story. PM stchamp98 if you want some details, but the gist of it is, Russ was told he would have a lot more input in how the running game would work and in particular bloking schemes, he was told he would have a lot more input in personnel decisions. Neither of these things eventuated.
2 - Russ did a darn good job with UDFA Lyle Sendlein. He did a pretty stllar job with Mike Gandy was was signed from Buffalo as a hybird T/G and thens tarted at LT for us. Nate Potter developed pretty well, Bobby Massie over the last 8 games of last season was stellar.
Biggest issue was we never invested in OL. In the entire Whis tenure we spent 1 top 100 pick on the offensive line (Levi Brown) we went through two entire drafts without picking a single offensive lineman.
3 - I am undecided on Russ, I think you give him talent to mold he gets good stuff out of them, but the same can be said about most coaches. Not the genius he was made out to be, but not as bad as the performance of the Arizona OL would lead you to beleive. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

He was the OC, not the line coach. He was actually pretty good as a line coach when that's all he did. _________________

This was his only year as OC. Sucked the other years too. _________________

| Very positive signing, I'm glad McCoy will have two trustworthy coordinators and will be able to focus on his head coaching duties during the game. I echo those who say the offensive line coach will be crucial, but really it's up to Telesco and McCoy to draft/sign some new, talented blood. I doubt the new o-line coach will have a hand in any personnel decisions and NO ONE could make Jeromey Clary even an average player at this point. |

Frank Reich as our QB coach!!!!! Ok this one I am going to knee jerk and be excited. Expect the no huddle this year from Rivers. 90's Bills status! I am genuinely pleased with the staff this far.
Still waiting to hear on the offensive line and conditioning though... _________________

Michael Gehlken @UTgehlken
Chargers say they'll also retain def. coaches Joe Barry (LBs), Greg Williams (asst. LBs) and Don Johnson (DL). No mention of Ron Meeks (DBs)
