Out of curiosity, why such low grades on 7th rounders! It's the 7th round after all.
IMO Mauti has huge potential if healthy. That's a 7th round A in my books. _________________

I don't know how you could possibly give the Mauti pick a D. _________________ "Building a great team isn't about having the best players, it's about having the right players." |

I just don't see him getting healthy and making it through camp. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's just a feeling I get. Bond is just a large man. Doesn't impress me otherwise. Seems like DeGeare all over again.
But at the end of the day, you're right. 7th round doesn't matter all that much. But I thought there was better value on the board. _________________

He might not stay healthy but that's why he's in the 7th round. Without health concerns he doesn't get out of the top 50-60 picks. Upside alone makes it an A. _________________

He's already rehabbing pretty good. |

I would say:
Floyd A+ : Great pick. Huge steal.
Rhodes A : Quality player, a steal but somewhat questionable fit in our D
Patterson B : A for the player and value, but a D for the trade
Hodges B+ : Quality player and solid value
Locke D : He may very well be a great punter, but he already have a very good punter and a punter in the 5th is horrible value
Baca B- : Decent pick, but there's better value out there
Mauti A: Potentially a great pick. Awesome value
Bond F: Probably won't make the roster, Bailey and Uzzi were still available
Dawkins A: Another steal at this point |

If, I ever come around to the Patterson pick then this draft is an A for me.
I hope Minnesota can grab a few developmental guys after the draft. With the way the draft has played out there is going to be A LOT of quality priority signings this year. _________________

| If we sign Da'Rick, this would would be an outstanding class outside the derp pick of Locke. |

1-23: Sharrif Floyd [DT] Florida --- day 1 starter, impact player
1-25: Xavier Rhodes [CB] Florida State --- day 1 starter, impact player
1-29: Cordarelle Patterson [WR] Tennessee --- day 1 starter, impact player
4-120: Gerald Hodges [LB] Penn State --- possible starter, special teams player
5-155: Jeff Locke [P] UCLA --- immediate starter
6-196: Jeff Baca [OL] UCLA --- possible starter, depth player
7-213: Mike Mauti [LB] Penn State --- will compete for roster/PS spot
7-214: Travis Bond [G] North Carolina --- will compete for roster/PS spot
7-229: Everette Dawkins [DT] Florida State --- will compete for roster/PS spot
If Hodges and Baca can win their camp battles that is 6 starters in one draft. _________________

Floyd A+
Rhodes A
Patterson A/C He was a top 20 prospect, and you can't argue with the value. I just think he's gonna bust hard.
Hodges A- Sold guy in the 4th
Locke C I did this -_____- when he was drafted
Baca B Know nothing about him
Mauti A
Bond B Kno nothing about him
Dawkins A Solid solid guy, could be a starter in a few years. I know some different draft guys gave him 3-5th round grades.
Overall probably one of the top 4 drafts this year. A grade. |
