Kansas City is on the clock:
Andy Reid is now the head coach. Knowing what we know about Reid, he like to pass the ball a lot.
He is going to need a signal caller in KC, and while he could find that in free agency with Alex Smith potentially being out there, he may not think that Alex Smith is the answer. Reid may also look to grab Kevin Kolb back from the Cardinals. QB's on the roster are currently Brady Quinn, Ricky Stanzi and Matt Cassel.
Geno Smith is not a consensus #1 QB on the board and others could move up in front of him. But currently he is probably the more talented QB of the bunch that could find themselves at the top of the draft boards.
There is also Luke Joeckel who is from Texas A&M and is considered the best LT prospect in the draft. But the Chiefs have Branden Albert already in position and some would ask, why take Joeckel when you have a pro bowl LT in place.
Star Lotulelei is a DT that would not be suited for the 3-4 as he would end up playing DE. Coming out of Utah, there are many that have said that he is very talented and has moves to be very effective on the edge and playing in the middle as a 3 technique in a 4-3 defense. But in Kansas City, it is unclear if he will be able to play off the edge as he doesnt have the speed to get past OT's. He does better shooting gaps on stunts and bull rushes. The Chiefs just drafted Dontari Poe last year and is playing the nose.
If you are the KC Chiefs and Andy Reid who do you take with the first pick? _________________

If they think they can get their QB later, get your BPA. Otherwise, if you have to go QB, don't take Geno. Go Wilson. _________________

I think they go Geno. Desperation.
33 is still early in the draft. They can make up ground by picking that high. _________________

Star is more than capable of playing the Nose and the Chiefs would be foolish to pass him up. Matt Barkley most likely will be there in the second so taking Geno Smith would seem silly. _________________

His skill set, power and speed really translate to a 4-3 DT or a 3-4 DE. He would lose a lot of effectiveness if he had to gain about 25 lbs to play the nose.
He has a lot of power and is quick into gaps and around edges. I don't see him playing the nose.
Also Dontari Poe was just drafted last year and is playing the nose, so he would replace Sean Smith on the edge who had 11 tackles and no sacks all last year. _________________

I voted Geno but I ultimately think its whichever one of the top QBs that Reid and his staff fall in love with. _________________

And the Chiefs would deal for a RB why? _________________

I'd be shocked if it were anyone save Geno at this point in time. Things can obviously change though after combines/pro days/etc _________________
