The bottom line is how Steve Jackson and the Rams handle this situation will be a pivot point for the off-season.
If Steve Jackson stays it will take up cap space. I agree he won't stay for 2 mil a season - it will probably need to be in the 4-5 mil range just as a starting point. Furthermore, Steve Jackson is on the downside of his career.
That being said SJAX probably has at least one more 1000 yard season in him and with a decent line got almost certainly get more.
If he does not, IMO the Rams HAVE to draft a RB for his replacement. Richardson proved to be a capable back-up, but I don't see him as a work horse back at this time. As for using a running back by committee - I don't see that happening either.
He doesn't sound to confident to be back here. Doesn't even seem to confident in Sam lol Does sound confident in D-Rich though _________________
