A very nice hire the guy knows how to coach a line and design protections for a pass first offense.
Tice and his magic pixie dust are out of here! _________________

Really happy with this hire....now the question is what will happen to Rod? Marc seems open to keeping him but will Rod want to stay? _________________

Trestman is waisting no time and I like it.
Kromer is an up and coming coach, and this has to give us an inside track at Bushrod if we want him.
Lance Louis is about to take a huge leap if history holds true.
Also of note, Kromer took Carl Nicks an OT at Nebraska, and turned him into one of the 3 best OGs in the NFL. His first job is to get Gabe adjusted to the inside. _________________

Wow Trestman isn't wasting any time is he? Tice is a great guy but he had to go, I hope he gets a job somewhere else but being our OC just wasn't working out. Really like the Kromer hire, what a day for news this is! _________________

FWIW - 16 QB's have thrown for 100 TDS in the last 5 years
Of those 16, Drew Brees has been sacked the 4th fewest times. Only Brady, Manning, and Stafford have been sacked fewer times. And has the 2nd best sack percentage (behind only Manning)
Speaks well for the OL and Kromer. _________________

This is a great hire, Im absolutely ecstatic so far in this coaching search. Now it seems the most anticipated decision is whether or not our Defensive staff stays in tact. Hopefully he continues bringing in coaching talent under him on the offensive side as well. _________________

Pat Meyers - Oline/Running Game Coord at Colorado St joining the staff as well. No position announced yet.
Trestman worked with Meyers at NC State. _________________

It’s a quality pick up…Kromer is another guy who brings a winning mentality with him coming from the Saints and that is something that can’t be underestimated…if you look at the Saints Oline since 09 when Kromer took over its great reading…
2009…Sacks allowed 20 (4th in the NFL)…QB hits 52 (3rd)…Rush attempts 4.5 (6th)
2010…Sacks allowed 26 (5th)…QB hits 68 (11th)…Rush attempts 4.0 (21st)
2011…Sacks allowed 24 (3rd)…QB hits 51 (1st)…Rush attempts 4.9 (5th)
2012…Sacks allowed 26 (3rd)…QB hits 59 (3rd)…Rush attempts 4.3 (13th) |

From what I've read, Meyers was the acting Offensive Coordinator at CSU, being ranked in the top 10 in NCAA in recruiting to non BCS schools... He was hired as the Allouettes Offensive Coordinator on December 12. I think this is quietly another great hire, suspect him to be the RB coach. _________________

Kromer served as running game coordinator in NO...he will more than likely carry out that role as OC so Meyers could be the "named" Oline coach...like Mike Phair is under Marinelli. |

The speed in which things are happening is so impressive given what we are used to seeing at HH.
They are moving quickly and methodically to get all of this stuff done and done now. Clearly Trestman had a plan in place and they are now executing it. _________________
