Free Agency
David Carr | Quarterback
Team: New York Giants
Age / DOB: (33) / 7/21/1979
Ht / Wt: 6'3' / 212
College: Fresno State
DS Comment: Good enough to back up Eli, should be good enough to back up Weeden. That and he's not Derek Anderception.
Brian Hartline | Wide Receiver
Team: Miami Dolphins
Age / DOB: (26) / 11/22/1986
Ht / Wt: 6'2' / 199
College: Ohio State
DS Comment: Local Boy that grew up a Browns fan and most likely want to come home. Franchise record holder for most receptions in a game for the Dolphins in a single game. Very sure handed possesion reciever who knows how to get separation..
Louis Vasquez | Guard
Team: San Diego Chargers
Age / DOB: (25) / 4/11/1987
Ht / Wt: 6'5' / 335
College: Texas Tech
DS Comment: A guy that has thrived with Turner and Chud while in SD and obviously fits the new scheme. He looks down the RG spot and Greco Pinkston and Lauvao have a cage match for starter at LG.
Mike Jenkins | Defensive Back
Team: Dallas Cowboys
Age / DOB: (27) / 3/22/1985
Ht / Wt: 5'10' / 202
College: South Florida
DS Comment:With Claiborn Carr and Scandreck the top 3 CB's in Dallas Jenkions moves on and the Browns sign him to play opposite Hadden.
Trade: Jets move up from 9th to 6th overall 2 select the #2 ranked QB.
Browns acquire a 2nd rounder.
Browns picks 1 2 3 3 4 5 6 7 (wait till the compensatory ones come out)
1 Barkevious Mingo*, DE/OLB, LSU
Height: 6-5. Weight: 245.
Projected 40 Time: 4.55.
DS Comment: Mingo is both fast and quick off the edge with a blazing first step and impressive straight line speed. He will be the primary pass rusher in in Pagons's new 1 gap 34 D in Cleveland.
2 (from the Jets) Kenny Vaccaro, FS, Texas
Height: 6-1. Weight: 215.
Projected 40 Time: 4.47.
DS Comment: Vaccaro posses the speed and range to play a single high safety look in the NFL. He has good size and is a good run defender as well.
3a Jonathan Bostic, ILB, Florida
Height: 6-1. Weight: 243.
Projected 40 Time: 4.63.
DS Comment: Speedy LB with good size and coverage ability. He also rush's the pass well and is very good vs the run.
3b (from the Cowboys) Brandon Jenkins, DE/OLB, Florida State
Height: 6-3. Weight: 260.
Projected 40 Time: 4.67.
DS Comment: A highly regarded pass rusher last offseason Jenkins derailed his season with a liz frank foot injury. Which should be healed by the combine I expect. The Browns roll the dice a little bit on player with 1st round upside but with a bit of a injury history. Similar situation in the Browns taking TJ Ward.
4 Michael Williams, TE, Alabama
Height: 6-6. Weight: 270.
Projected 40 Time: 4.77.
DS Comment: A big run blocking TE that is a good receiver as well. Not a deep threat though. Should be an asset in short yardage and goal line packages as well as 2 TE sets.
5 Travis Howard, CB, Ohio State
Height: 6-1. Weight: 196.
Projected 40 Time: 4.50.
DS Comment: Big DB whose stock has fallen as others have risen. Howard IMO could be depth at CB or FS.
6 Tommy Bohanon, FB, Wake Forest
Height: 6-2 Weight: 250
Projected 40 Time: 4.65.
DS Comment: A Fullback whose stock ois on the rise due to his versitility as a FB H-Back and Tight End. He is a pretty goo run blocker as well as a descent pass catcher.
7 Ryan Allen, P, Louisiana Tech
Height: 6-2. Weight: 215.
DS Comment: Allen averaged 48 yards per punt in 2012 and is an upgrade over Hodges.
Camp Starters. /= competition for a starting Job.
QB Weeden
RB Richardson
FB Bohanon

WR1 Gordon
WR2 Little

I applaud you for changing it up. Finally a different draft and FA list.
Its not terrible. I like the FA class, excpet for Jenkins. He's worthless. The talent pool for CB and S is so deep this year, that would be a awful signing. There's so many better players out there.
I hate mingo. Rather have Dion Jordan, who even yourself said was better for the 34. But you still overlook him in your mock 34 retool.
Tabor is still ou ST coor. Two other teams wanted to interview him, and the browns denied it.
Your draft is alright, but to assume a 3rd rounder can step in and replace DQ is absurd.
I also despise B. Jenkins. He will never be more then a speed guy in the NFL. He will get owned by NFL tackles. [/quote] _________________ 2013 First Ballot Recipient of the Joe Blackburn Award |

1 I was trying to be reasonable and grab a new name.
2 I rate mingo higher as jordon's shoulder issues that have required surgery for a torn labrum scares me a bit.

3 Will update the ST coach.
4 No I am assuming Gocong will replace DQ and Johnson and Bostic will challenge him.
5 I need depth a ROLB so I went with a speed guy who contribute on pass rushing downs. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

Ok I figure Jones Werner and Moore will be gone. IF you HAD to take a 34 ROLB, would you rather be Montgomery or Okafor than Mingo and why?
Jordan's torn labrum knock him out of 1st round status IMO. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

I don't have to though. At that point you take best CB available in all likelyhood.
Don't take a spot just because you had too.
I know we would have a hole at OLB, but there is FA and other picks to use.
CB is just as big of a need as OLB.
If we trade down, then there would be other options. If we stay at 6, we don't take the other guys you mentioned. _________________

I just don't like ANY FA option for primary pass rusher in the 34 or the 43.

They tagged him last year and he followed that up by having his best season in the NFL. Dude was a monster against the run this year and almost doubled his career high in sacks. Would love to see Connor Barwin or Kruger but again I doubt either of those guys get away. _________________

yes both are good but they are not the primary pass rusher on there own team and play LOLB not ROLB. I'd rate Moore werner Mingo Montgomery and Okafer over them as ROLB's. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

If jenkins is your idea of just using a different name, I think you should educate yourself on the FAs a little more. I made a thread about it, go have a look see.
I see your point with Jordan, noted. Was Moore off the board?
Depth at OLB can be had in FA. Here's 2 names. Victor Butler and Antwaan Barnes.
When I get back home over the weekend, I'm going to update my FA thread for OLB and more CBs. _________________ 2013 First Ballot Recipient of the Joe Blackburn Award |

1 I thought he could be realistically be had so grabbed him. I could substitute EJ Biggers or Derek Cox if you like.
2 Thank you.
3 I could make another rush LB in the 3rd if you like. As for another free agent I thought 4 would be stretching it. I am well aware who are available thanks to rotoworlds master list of free agents. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

Who cares. Stop taking these "draft insiders" and mock drafts as proof of something or fact.
These guys are glorified football fans.
These guys also gave Bobby massie a high grade.
Scott Wright thought coye francies was a second rounder.
Jonathan dwyer had a second round grade or late first.
Everette brown was considered the second best pass rsher, and a top 10 pick to the browns in several mocks.
Duke robinson was considered the best guard in his draft by these "experts", lasted until the 6th I think. _________________ 2013 First Ballot Recipient of the Joe Blackburn Award |

Gil Bryant is pretty respected though. It's not like I mention Kiper or Mckshay.
I just found it interesting he rated out so high according to them. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!
