A very under-the-radar signing that doomed the Texans RZ offense was Joel Dreessen to the Broncos. Most see this as a #2 TE moving from one unit to the other, but look at the numbers - Joel D led the Texans in TD catches over the past TWO seasons, and was the only player on the team to catch a TD pass from all three QBs in the 2011 season. That shows that it wasn't a connection-based/chemestry-based type of anomaly that allowed Joel D to thrive - it was a dead on indicator that Dresseen had a great nose for the end zone, a knack for reading what coverage was doing and presenting a big target for the QB to find once we got into scoring position.
Garrett Graham might be a nice TE to use, but he fell considerably short in replacing Dreessen's production this season. _________________

I remember before Dreessen signed with Denver, the FO was fighting like crazy to keep him with the Texans - now we have a better understanding of why |
