So the Bears have apparently named their finalists for HC, and for some reason known only to Phil Emery, Bevell is one of them.
Give me an honest review guys, b/c what I've seen on Sundays I'm not impressed. _________________

I will say this, he has improved over the year. He calls the dumbest 3rd and short plays I have ever seen. _________________

| Hopefully Phil Emery is just getting fans all worked up so they will be excited when he hires Trestman. Bevell is awful! |

I don't want to lose him, simply because Wilson was successful with him, and I dont want to jeopardize that. But I still dont really like him.
However, I think he would make a better HC than OC, as he is a very good players coach. I think the players like him and follow his guidance. _________________ Trying is the first step towards failure

I wouldn't mind losing either one of our coordinators, but if I had to keep one, it would be DB.
The only reason I want to keep DB is because of the success Wilson has had with him. Other than that, I could give 2 sh*ts about where he goes. As long as we have a OC that maximizes Wilson's talents, we should be good. _________________

Aside from Bevell's awful play calling on 3rd down, I think he's improved a lot this year. He's still not awesome, but I'm ok with him. In fact, I might even prefer to keep him regardless of Russell's development if I knew he'd ditch that empty set look on 3rd and 2. _________________

Bevel has evolved a lot this season and I want to keep him here and see the growth between him and RW. Some people want to keep pretending he is the same coordinator he was in week 2. He is solid.
Our D coordinator on the other hand has skilled guys everywhere, yet in my opinion doesn't do as much with them as he could. Has no idea how to bring pressure other than sending another guy, who by the way has no experience considering they barely ever blitz. Continuous problems kept popping up all season, 3rd down defense was baffling. Run defense was embarrassing at times. The D Coordinator brings nothing to the table in my opinion. |

I'm happy to give Bevell another year. He showed a lot of improvement as the year went on. Also, there is nobody on the offensive coaching side that could take over for Bevell.
Gus Bradley regressed though. There are coordinators on the defensive side (especially Ken Norton Jr and Rocky Seto) that could possibly take over and maintain Pete's ideology. I would also not be opposed to bringing in a fresh body. _________________

Even if Bevell left, I'm pretty sure Tom Cable would be promoted to OC and wouldn't change the playbook really at all. just better situational play-calling. _________________ Kam Chancellor-2012/2013 Season - 100 tackles - 1 FF - 2 FR - 0 INT

Pluses:
-Excellent play designer
-Player's coach (Wilson loves him)
-He's open minded
Minuses:
- He sucks at play calling (which he probably wouldn't do it there)
- He plays not to lose, rather than to win too often
- I'm not sure he's super charismatic compared to Pete and Gus. _________________
