We only had 1 LB start 16 games.
Lee and Carter did not have the same impact in ~8 games as Ware had in 16. |
I would argue that Bailey had a larger correlation to us winning games than Ware did in 2012. |
Baily also lost us the Ravens game.
Plus... Really? DeMarcus Ware had a down year => BY HIS STANDARDS <= .. but he still had a pretty good year. |
And if we are talking about a Career, its a HOFer vs a two year player. But for 2012, Ware was good...not amazing. I can't think of very many kickers that were better than Bailey for 2012. _________________

Ware - much bigger impact and better player. His broken, half-best self was still one of the best in the NFL. Getting torched by RGIII doesn't change that. _________________

Ware was still a top ~5-7 OLB while being broken most of the year. He had a good impact and is a probowl/all pro player.
Bailey lost us one game (along with ~2 last year) and is neither a probowl or all pro player.

BTW - Blair Walsh is apparently amazing. But on a related note, if you look at the Stats, Bailey would be a top 10 K. _________________

Based on what measure? Bailey is 2nd in Percentage, and is flawless from 49 and under. He missed two kicks all year - both over 50 yards. Walsh cannot make that claim. _________________

Absolutely. But he missed a kick in the 30's and two in the 40's. Easier kicks he didn't connect with, the more challenging ones he did. Not disqualifying, but to dismiss Bailey as merely a "top 10 kicker" is altering how stunning of a year Bailey had. _________________

Dan Bailey. Returning to my boycott of the poll until Killa Beaz is on there. _________________

How does Ware get beat out by Bailey? I'm sorry but Ware might have not been the beat this year because of injury but to vote the kicker in over him is a joke. Automatic or not ware was still good. _________________

I don't see why A.) It's a joke. B.) People take it as an insult to Ware if another player played lights out. _________________

I give Ware a lot of credit for playing through his injuries. Our season would have been done without him. _________________

People are really underrating the value of a spot on kicker. If we had a kicker who only hit %70 and couldn't make a game winning/tying kick, people would be voting him as one of the least valuable on the team. But, when you have full confidence that your guy will go out and nail everything under 50 yards, be very good on 50+, and be great on game winners/tyers, he is a remarkably valuable commodity.
He deserves a high ranking. _________________
