Free Agents
Mike Jenkins CB - Former Pro Bowler that could come fairly cheap
Louis Vasquez RG - Follows Norv, locks down RG spot
Shaun Phillips OLB - Veteran, helps ease transition to 3-4
Jared Cook TE - Chud could make him great
Derek Anderson QB - Familiar with the system. Ok back-up
Louis Murphy WR - Veteran depth at WR
Draft
1. Barkevious Mingo DE/OLB - Bad fit in a 4-3, but a great fit in a 3-4. Phenomenal athlete with explosive burst. Plus, his name is BARKevious Mingo. He'll fit right in with the Dawg Pound.
3. Tyler Bray QB - Our future franchise QB. First, he's a Tennessee Volunteer, and that'll get Jimmy's attention. Second, he's a tall QB with a big arm (fits Chud's offense). Third, his attitude is similar to the QB our new OC has experience dealing with and getting the most out of (Rivers).
4. Shayne Skov ILB/OLB - Versatile depth. Not amazing, but he's a tough player and can help our LBs.
5. Michael Williams TE - Solid TE that can block and catch. Makes for a potentially dangerous 3-TE redzone set.
6. Ryan Allen P - Best Punter in the Draft.
7. Zach Boren FB - Solid FB that can block and catch.

Two words: fairly awful.
We go from bad QB situation to the league's worst, top to bottom.
Mingo's OK.
Bray is the worst QB draft eligible this year. Attitude is where the Rivers' similarities stop.
Skov is OK, but we seem to have good depth at ILB already.
Williams is a good 3rd TE.
Hard to get excited about a Punter or FB, especially when said FB is a better LB. |

I say Zach Boren was a damn good FB IMO
in 2009, he helped block for the RBs that combined for around 1600yards
in 2010, pretty much did the same thing
in 2011, and the same thing
In 2012 he looked bad because Meyer doesnt use FBs in his offense
pro style offense, Boren is a damn good FB, in a spread offense not so much |

Yeah but if we take him it won't be because he's a good QB now. Everyone knows his mechanics and footwork are trash but there's no denying he has the great arm talent that Chud requires in his system. Now, whether or not his attitude/work ethic can be changed so that he stands a chance of developing may be unlikely but I can definitely see Chud wanting a guy with his skills outside of the 1st round. Not comparing the two at all but Aaron Rodgers was a cocky Cali kid who needed to be rebuilt when he first came out. |

How so? We have 3 QBs that can run Chud's offense.
Tyler Bray has all the physical tools you can ask for. 6'6" with a rocket arm. His attitude seems to be getting slightly better, too. If we have a good QB coach, they can fix his mechanical mistakes, which would drastically improve his accuracy. Plus, next year will be to observe Weeden to see if he can be the guy for the present, anyway. Bray doesn't have to play next year. And if Weeden isn't, we have a young guy waiting in the wings.
Mingo has crazy explosion off the snap and is a fantastic speed rusher. He's definitely not a 4-3 end, but I think he'll be a great rush LB in a 3-4.
Skov can also play OLB. He's great depth at a position of little 3-4 depth. _________________ https://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0001/0001_01.asp |

I really don't like that we are potentially switching defenses without a plethora of picks this year. I would want us to trade down badly this year, hopefully pick up a 2nd rounder. Nobody is selling me at the top of this draft at all. |

This looks a lot like what i have been thinking about. First off mingo is best at 6 if Moore is off the board. Skov is returning though. So i suppose draft another or sign another free agent. I like what you did with the corner situation with brown in the slot. But if you sign another lb then you could draft a cb or fs in the fourth. Or don't draft the punter and take an olb there. Love the te stable. It is a good idea to get a young guy like bray although he has late game to's...would really love a safety there but it might have to wait. But tj mcd, lester, swearinger and possibly rambo may be there. Really like it though these next couple months are going to be tantalizing |

If we did though I'm how much it would help as there should be a safety in the third and the pick most likely will be de in the first. In the 2nd i would love to pick up one of the great receivers that will be there but not if we miss out on our guy. However, all the first round de's look good. Jordan or Montgomery and at the worst a power guy in ansah. Or may just have to settle for warmack. |

Tyler Bray makes this entire offseason a huge fail.
Barkevious Mingo is well worth the risk if, and only if, Damonte Moore, Dion Jordan, and Dee Milliner are off the board. _________________

Sorry was just in the neighborhood looking for Pags news, but acting like Rivers has a bad attitude is laughable. Comparing him to a complete - like Bray is insulting considering Rivers is a great guy and a hard worker. Bray is neither, and Rivers attitude issues are way overblown. Bray has work ethic issues, and even if you think Rivers has a bad attitude, he never had anything close to those. So in conclusion, comparing Rivers to Bray is insulting to Rivers. Just thought I'd say something. _________________
