i was one of those drunken cheering maniacs. feel kinda bad in retrospect but its pitiful to be that bad that your own fans would cheer your departure.

After what he said in his departure, nobody should ever want him back.

So DA posts on his facebook page about having unfinished business in Cleveland and we have him as a QB on the 2013 Browns in mocks already?

I think I need to remind some people about real problems the Browns have had:

1. No legit starting QB for most of 14 years.
2. No legit offensive skill players for most of 14 years
3. No legit defensive secondary for most of 14 years
4. No legit LB corps for most of 14 years
5. No legit pass rushers for most of 14 years
6. No legit offensive line for most of 14 years
7. No legit front office for most of 14 years
8. No legit run defense for most of 14 years.
9. No legit depth for most of 14 years.
10. No legit future for most of 14 years.

So yeah, if the mere possibility of a guy, that many don't like, becoming our backup QB is a big concern, I'm fine with it.

I'm not.

That turd spouted a lot of crap.

I'd rather chip in for his unemployment than see him make money being a backup for the team I love.

Sure, I don't like the guy either, but it's not like there is an offer on the table or anything.

Not saying there is but if he is close to Chud; there might be a handshake agreement. Similar to how he ended up in Carolina.

And yea. I don't want him as my backup or a 3rd string.

He had a good year; over 5 years ago. No reason to bring him back.

For once, I agree with you.

Most people hate change and will continue to hate Banner until they see a better W/L record.

I wasn't a huge fan of Shurmur, thought Heckert was legit, and thought Holmgren did a decent job of assembling a quality FO/staff. That said, I think Banner has more than earned a fair shot at doing it his way after his success in PHI.

Thus far, Banner seems as if he's doing more than decent IMO.

Will signing DA fix all of those problems?

No, so I have no interest in seeing him here.

If we are talking FA QB's, I'd target Alex Smith (who i think will be a FA) and matt moore.

Seriously. The possibility of DA becoming even a serviceable starter is very low. The negative PR far outweighs the slim possibility of a good signing.

There are many other ways we can sign a backup QB without it being DA, and we should use one of them.
