jason avant?

i've been reading a lot of mock off seasons, and almost every one has us cutting jason avant. my only question is why?

i've heard the excuses:

1) he's not fast enough
2) he can't get separation.
3) he's never gonna get better
4) he doesn't get a lot of touchdowns

to each one of those excuses....shut up.

no he's not blazing fast. no he doesn't get a lot of separation all the time. and no he probably won't develop into a #2 or #1 receiver. and i agree...he could do with a little more scoring now and then.

SO WHAT?!?!?

the dude has, without argument, the best hands on this team and he's among the best hands in the NFL right now! (yea i said it)

if you want a fast slot receiver, fine. but why cut a guy who's constantly been solid for us and is our "Mr. First Down" crowned player? i always hear when he's made a good play: "avant's freaking awesome!" or "AVANT IS BEAST!!!"

and if you're gonna go to what he's done this year...stuff it. our team as a whole sucked this year. one guy doesn't make a team great.

the catch he made against the buccaneers i believe should solidify his position here for at least a few more years. even if he drops in the depth chart, simply having him as an option is good.

so someone....using logic and ACTUAL good reasoning...explain to me why he should get cut? Eh?
