I'd be stoked if the Browns hire Horton. I'll be pretty happy with Pagano, too.
I wanted to stick with the 4-3 but I'd be cool with the 3-4, especially if it means the Browns are able to get one of those two coordinators. The Browns would have a great defensive line in the 3-4. They would need a pass rusher in either the 3-4 or 4-3. The only major downside of switching to the 3-4 is that D'Qwell Jackson seems much better in the 4-3. Then again, when the Browns had a 3-4, the defensive line wasn't very good and didn't take up blockers. Now, the defensive line would be much better and Jackson would have less blockers on him.
DE: Taylor, Winn, Hughes
NT: Rubin, Hughes
DE: Rucker, Winn, Hughes
OLB: Sheard
ILB: Jackson
ILB: Gocong/JMJ
OLB: FA/draft pick

I'd love Horton but we need a guy who can stick around a while. I'm afraid he is one of the next head coaches in the league _________________

The problem is that every team that has ever gone to a 3-4 has said the same sort of thing before watching it blow up. I guess we are younger than most, so that helps.
I really don't want to go 3-4, but if we got Horton? I think I could be ok with it. He's a pretty darn good DC _________________

Omg
From the fear of having Saban and Lombardi to potentially having Norv and Horton as our freaking coordinators |
The thing is that if our defense is good Horton would probably be gone in a couple years onto a HC job. At least Turner has pretty much royally screwed himself out of being a head coach for a while.
That being said Horton is one of the few people I'd be okay going back to a 3-4 for. |
Not to mention the fact that I think Norv Turner was on George Halas' practice squad back in the 1950's......I think that he's officially qualified as the "grizzled veteran coach" that probably won't be getting another shot at a head coaching gig. _________________

| Chud needs to be flying to wherever Ray Horton is at right now and offer him the DC job immediately.....having two very good coordinators will only make Chud's job as Head Coach a little bit easier |

@JasonLaCanfora: Just going to reiterate what I first reported earlier tonight. still sounds like Todd Bowles ends up in AZ and Ray Horton ends up in CLE.
I liked Horton as an HC candidate, I like him even better just taking care of our defense. With Turner and Horton and the existing talent on the roster, I'd say our Browns are finally ready to start winning. _________________ "If you can't stand the neural activity, than stay out of the neural activator" -Professor Fink
