As I said Thursday, CLE is looking to move to a 3-4. John Pagano is the DC they're eyeing. Has NOT been hired yet. Still with SD. For now.

I don't throw names at the wall and hope they stick. Browns want John Pagano to bring his 3-4 D. Bit tricky bc of his current contract w SD.

The more I think about it, the more I want Mel Tucker as our next Defensive Coordinator.

Career Path
DB Coach - LSU (Nick Saban)
DB Coach/Defensive Coordinator - Ohio State (Jim Tressel)
DB Coach/Defensive Coordinator - Cleveland Browns (Romeo Crennel)
Defensive Coordinator/Interim HC/Assistant HC - Jacksonville Jaguars (Del Rio/Mularkey)

Cleveland native
Worked with Chud before
Produces quality play from defenses (escpecially DB's)
Relatively young (41)

I guess the entire draft will be spent on the defense. Hopefully we sign a TE and OG in free agency.

I wonder why Haslam is pushing for a 34? I at least hope we can hybrid the 34/43 defense.

I still think we sign a FS and CB in FA.

I'd be stunned if Moore, Jordan or Werner didn't get picked at 6.

Wouldn't be mad with Tucker.

He's a good, young defensive mind.

As far as scheme, I can't say I care as long as it works. Whichever way we go, Chud and the new DC and GM can thank Heckert for leaving the cupboards stocked with good, young, versatile talent. And LOTS of cap space.

Pagano is pretty aggressive in the 34 defense.. As long as we got everyone on the same page from the Front Office, the coaching staff, and of course our players.. Idc who we have, as long as they get the job done and keep stability or continuity lol.. I wonder which GM is our top target as well.. As long as its not Lombardi ..

Looks like Raheem Morris is getting an interview for the Browns Vacant DC position..

http://www.theredzone.org/BlogDescription/tabid/61/EntryId/32246/Browns-to-interview-Raheem-Morris-for-defensive-coordinator/Default.aspx

Redskins defensive backs coach and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris will interview Friday with the Cleveland Browns for their defensive coordinator job according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times..

Interesting.. I guess we are delaying or moving on since Pagano cant get away from the Chargers.. Whats y'all thoughts about this and would be mad if hired Morris?

I am going to throw a name out of left field at yall.....

Current Arkansas LB's coach and former Miami HC Randy Shannon....
He put together some pretty solid D's...he's coached with Dolphins, he played in the league and Chud and he have a connection from the early day's at Miami......

The Jags are on the Gus Bus leaving Tucker a wide open road to Berea. Ran a 3/4 with us and a 4/3 with the Jags. Here come da hybrid. Sweet.

Yep Gus Bradley in at Jacksonville.

He might like to keep a young guy under him though.
