The more I think about it, the more I want Mel Tucker as our next Defensive Coordinator.
Career Path
DB Coach - LSU (Nick Saban)
DB Coach/Defensive Coordinator - Ohio State (Jim Tressel)
DB Coach/Defensive Coordinator - Cleveland Browns (Romeo Crennel)
Defensive Coordinator/Interim HC/Assistant HC - Jacksonville Jaguars (Del Rio/Mularkey)
Cleveland native
Worked with Chud before
Produces quality play from defenses (escpecially DB's)
Relatively young (41) |

I guess the entire draft will be spent on the defense. Hopefully we sign a TE and OG in free agency.

I guess the entire draft will be spent on the defense. Hopefully we sign a TE and OG in free agency. |
I still think we sign a FS and CB in FA.
I'd be stunned if Moore, Jordan or Werner didn't get picked at 6.

I think any of them will do fine playing shaun phillips position, and sheard will be our "lights out"

Wouldn't be mad with Tucker.
He's a good, young defensive mind.
As far as scheme, I can't say I care as long as it works. Whichever way we go, Chud and the new DC and GM can thank Heckert for leaving the cupboards stocked with good, young, versatile talent. And LOTS of cap space.

| Pagano is pretty aggressive in the 34 defense.. As long as we got everyone on the same page from the Front Office, the coaching staff, and of course our players.. Idc who we have, as long as they get the job done and keep stability or continuity lol.. I wonder which GM is our top target as well.. As long as its not Lombardi .. |

I am going to throw a name out of left field at yall.....
Current Arkansas LB's coach and former Miami HC Randy Shannon....
He put together some pretty solid D's...he's coached with Dolphins, he played in the league and Chud and he have a connection from the early day's at Miami......

The Jags are on the Gus Bus leaving Tucker a wide open road to Berea. Ran a 3/4 with us and a 4/3 with the Jags. Here come da hybrid. Sweet.

He might like to keep a young guy under him though.
