Costa did play well when he was healthy this year. Fluke, possibly, but maybe an affirmation that they were right not to give up on him. I also don't think Cook was terrible or anything. Guard's the bigger priority fasho. _________________

I really want one of those 2 guards in this draft!!!! _________________

I'm actually starting to have some hope that the 1st round pick will be a bit of a pleasant surprise for us Cowboys fans. Who?
- Damontre Moore.
He's constantly getting mocked in the top 5, but hearing scouts comments on him make me believe he isn't as high in theirs book, he sounds like being a mid to early 1st rounder, here's some comments from scouts that Walterfootball has gathered:
| Quote: | | We've spoken to an NFC general manager picking in the bottom half of the first round. He does not expect Moore to be around when he's on the clock. "We have him as a mid to high first," he said. |
| Quote: | | "Everyone I've spoken with has him as a first-rounder," an NFC scout told Charlie. |
A reporter, Russ Lande, said that he hadn't spoke with a scout yet who had him in the 1st round and that he himself projected him to the 2nd (I do doubt that).

The knock on Moore is probably that he lacks quickness and explosiveness while still not being able to use his hands and passrush technique. If he fails to show quickness at the combine, we might actually have a shot at him. The last time we drafted a 20 year old player, it worked out pretty well..
After watching him a bit closer where I focused on him just on youtube, I have to say he to me doesn't look like a sure top 5 pick. Not a sure top 10 pick either. But will he really drop out of the top 17? I'm not sure.. Here's a quick possible "Moore falls" mock;
Chiefs) Luke Joeckel
Jaguars) Star Letulelei
Raiders) Shariff Floyd
Eagles) Eric Fisher
Lions) Ezekiel Ansah
Browns) Bjorn Werner
Cardinals) Lane Johnson
Bills) Geno Smith
Jets) Dion Jordan
Titants) Demarcus Milliner
Chargers) Johnathan Hankins
Dolphins) Sheldon Richardson
Buccaneers) Desmond Trufant
Panthers) Codarelle Patterson
Saints) Barkvious Mingo
Rams) Kenny Vacarro
Steelers) Jarvis Jones
Cowboys) Damontre Moore
And that's without even using either Cooper or Warmack in the top 18, or a couple of QB's in Glennon, Barkley or Manuel (there could be added a QB or two because teams sees getting a frachise QB as priority #1) a couple of these guys could be taken and cause a passrusher to drop which would make the Moore pick even more likely.
I know I know, it's probably just a dream. But to have a 20 year old talented DE who on top of that is a Dallas native to drop till our pick, that would be awesome to say it in a gentle way. He would be a great pick for the LEO position (if I have understood the job of that position correctly). I'm sure hoping for him to do NOTHING impressive at the combine. |

Margus Hunt in the 2nd would be pretty intriguing. He's too raw to be a first rounder, but his potential with Rod coaching him could be fantastic _________________

Problem is, by the time he hits his full potential he will be exiting his prime at age 30. His age is a huge knock IMO |
Very true - he's too raw and too old to get the best out of him for an extended period, but I think he could hit his potential by 28 and get 2 great years from him before his rookie contract is up _________________

USA Today reports Utah DT Star Lotulelei (heart) has been informed he can continue to work out on his own, and that the "hope" is he's dealing with dehydration instead of a heart issue.
A source believes Lotulelei's issue may be the result of "too much sodium in his diet or rapid weight loss in a short timeframe that prompted tests to reveal his heart wasn't pumping at full capacity." Thanks to a "hectic schedule," Lotulelei reportedly lost nearly 10 pounds in three days last week. Lotulelei's Combine physical wasn't considered "failed," but "incomplete" pending the results of more tests. It's possible, perhaps likely, Lotulelei's health scare will end up much ado about nothing. _________________

Cullen Jenkins was/is released by the Eagles - could be a solid 1-tech signing _________________

That would be a nice addition for the right price. _________________

I agree. I am surprised the Eagles let Jenkins go since he has experience in the 3-4. _________________
