QB has always been a position of controversy and discussion around these parts... and yet, it doesn't seem like it's as big an issue right now.
Why is this?
There is a big decision regarding Michael Vick coming up. We can opt out of his contract with little repercussion, otherwise, we pay him big money and keep him around with little trading prospects.
Nick Foles is not a foregone conclusion. A new head coach will almost certainly want to scout and grab "his own guy". Nick Foles is Andy Reid's (or Roseman's) class of 2012 third round draft pick. There is no guarantee a new head coach will put his new career here on the line with someone else's 3rd round pick.
If the new coach does draft his own guy from the draft, where? Do we reach at #4? _________________

Roll with Foles. Played well enough, showed potential. Crappy QB class. Build a team around the QB spot, let him have his season and then if we decide that Foles isn't our guy we can sell out to get the guy we want in next year's draft. _________________

I think we will draft a QB in the first 2 rounds, but unlikely to draft them at #4. _________________

I think we roll with Foles, at least at first, but also draft a QB in the 2nd _________________

I think if this was any other draft class, a new coach would pick a QB with the fourth overall pick. But this QB class isn't exactly the greatest. I think a later pick is what a new coach would do.
Ideally, I would like a new coach to stick with Foles and not waste a pick on a QB this year. Let's see what Foles can do and pick a QB next year which appears to be a better class. Realistically, I see the new coach drafting a new QB in the mid to later rounds. _________________

I also think we have to learn lessons from previous seasons - we can't just hand Foles the job. _________________

5th option, the Bridgewater option of 2014.
But roll with Foles for now. _________________

The 5th option is very dangerous - who says he declares, who says he doesn't get injured, who says he doesn't completely has a mare over the next season? _________________

I'd be saying to just go with Foles too, but I just feel any new head coach is going to want to spend that top pick on a QB that is going to define their career here. Even if it means severely reaching.
I think Nick drew the short straw, ultimately. He was drafted then lost his head coach in the same year.
New regime, there's no loyalty to be found. _________________

Still in a poor QB draft, and with what Foles showed in his rookie season, I think you roll with him and focus on other problems first. It's not like Lurie is going to fire someone after his first year. _________________

Run with Foles. If he doesn't pan out, you draft Murray, Bray or Mettenberger next year. This years class is extremely weak overall. Combine that with the fact we are 3 years away from being competitive in our own division and we have nothing to lose by sticking with the kid for one year to "see" what the kid can do.
If Foles were being drafted this year, he would easily be a 1st round pick. _________________

If anyone votes to pay Vick, go ahead and dismiss yourself from this forum. Thanks.
I honestly think we try to get Foles some help (o-line, TE, big WR, commit to the run game, try to strengthen our defense), but also draft a project Qb anywhere from round 3-5 for eventual competition. _________________
