New head coach? Check.

Now it's time to find some assistants. Chud said that he would speak with the current coaches today, but his tone seemed to imply that the current coaches are longshots to stick around (which is normal).

The rumor right out of the box was Norv Turner as OC. Supposedly, Norv is in Hawaii on vacation, so we'll have to wait on confirmation for that.

3-4 or 4-3? Chud said it will depend on the DC he hires.

So give us your Twitter rumors.
Give us your opinions.
Give us your tired, your poor. Your huddled masses.

Discuss.

An awful lot of media types are saying it's nearly a done deal. I don't blame Chud, Haslam, or Banner for not saying it publicly, though. You can't say anything until the guy is signed on the dotted line.

It's hard to sign on the dotted line when you're in Hawaii on vacation.

For so many years we've gotten rookie HC's with rookie or new OC/DC's. I really hope we get experience at OC/DC since we have a rookie head coach...

looking at the people chud has worked with in the past...

http://coachingroots.com/football/coaches/rob-chudzinski

...here are the names I could see for DC.

Steve Wilks http://coachingroots.com/football/coaches/steve-wilks
John Pagano http://coachingroots.com/football/coaches/john-pagano
Ron Meeks http://coachingroots.com/football/coaches/ron-meeks

All these guys also have ties with Norv Turner too.

very true- Im trying not to get my hopes all up until it official, but its hard not to get excited.

As far as the defense goes I have been against a switch to an odd front, but If we get a GM/ DC that is more comfortable scouting/coaching players then I can start to come to grasp with it.

Nice call.

I'd love to see us throw big money at Ray Horton or Keith Butler, but it's more wishful thinking than a likely reality.

I have heard Mel Tucker's name thrown around as well.

Hoping he would stay 4-3 as well.

If we didnt get Lovie (what a pipe dream, but oh so hopeful), I wouldn't mind going after Marinelli. Chicago's D was really good this year until Urlacher went down. Definitely an attacking style and stays with the 4-3. Also was a HC himself... even if one of his years was for the 0-16 Lions.
