I do not believe there's any validity to the Jimmy Johnson tweet about #Bears and Marc Trestman. Phil Emery still has interviews coming up |

Yeah I’m not really understanding the timing of this one…Emery has been meticulous in his approach to the interview process…we haven’t interviewed 3 of the candidates we had lined up in Dennison, Bevell & Arians…doesn’t seem like Emery would make a decision before seeing what everyone has to offer…also Trestman was one of the guys who travelled to Chicago and had his interview at HH but Emery said he wanted to have a 2nd round of interviews for Ted Phillips & George McCaskey to meet the finalist and that could have been done in the 1st interview but the other guys we interviewed might not have had that opportunity…
You have to wonder if the news that Cleveland…who also interviewed Trestman…saying they wanted to wrap up their interview process by Sunday has something to do with this leak…for all we know Cleveland could have offered Trestman the job and he used it to leverage the Bears into making him an offer…of course everything could be speculation and I would much rather wait hear it from Emery…
If it is Trestman then great…he should bring in innovative offence and help Cutler out a lot…my only concern would be how is his staff going to shake out…if he can retain the majority of the defensive staff then we could be set but he also needs to build a good offensive staff with NFL experience since one man can’t coach an entire offence. |

@seankjensen: And my gut feeling: Phil Emery doesn't strike me as the type of person who would tip his hand if Marc Trestman were "the favorite." _________________

In the end Trestman could be the guy but this doesn't really jive with the rest of the process so far. His source could have been fed info too for a variety of reasons.
Now if they end up hiring him I think I would be good with it, I just don't think they have gotten to that point yet. _________________

@JasonLaCanfora: As to rumors of Bears hiring Trestman- Trestman has not heard from them since interview. Was not informed if would be a finalist ... _________________

What an terrible source Billy. All that guy does is use what other people report and regurgitate what they said. Not surprising to me that its also completely jumping the gun just like the last few stories. _________________

This is what happens when we consider everybody on Twitter as a potential news source. _________________

It was, at least, Jimmy Johnson. Thats a relatively good source considering his connections to Trestman. _________________

I just hope Johnson hasn't cost him the job. |

| I can't believe there's 3 pages on this. Have you guys been listening to Emery for the last year? This is not how he operates. Nothing to see here, lock the thread and wait for a more credible source. |
