Steelers FO do not mess around. Kudos to them. I *hear* that Rainey had similar incidences in college. Anyone know if there's any truth to that?
As for on the field. He did a good job returning kicks (At least against the Bengals). Losing Wallace (potentially) and Rainey takes the team speed down a notch... |

I agree. This is exactly how an organization should be run. There should be zero tolerance when it comes to stupidity.

He texted an ex-gf something like "time to die, bi***". Tomlin gave him a hard time about it in training camp. Guess nobody's laughing now... |

Hmm Alameeda Taamu is still on the Practice Squad Felony arrest evading police. Truth is they didn't need him kick returners are a dime a dozen. And he offered nothing on offense were just like any other team.

Or the all-pro LB. I'm not ripping on the Steelers, but all pro teams have double standards for "no tolerance" policies. If you're a star, you get second (or third) chances. If you're not, you don't.

No point denying it, it's absolutely true. Younger players seem to have a shorter leash as well, which is why I'm curious Ta'amu is still around. |

OK let's lay off Ben Rainey and those other players were arrested Ben was not. I don't know where this Steeler way came from. They are one of the model franchises in how a team should be run but not in behavior control no team is.

Let's not act like Ben got a pass because he "didn't get arrested." The guy's the franchise QB. Unless he's looking at serious jail time they're not gonna let him go. Chris Rainey is a return specialist who probably barely made the 53 man roster. One guy's just easier to make an example out of, while the other is too important to your team winning.
