http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2013/01/two_hall_of_fame_coaches_who_a.html
Levy and Bud Grant -- a pair of Pro Football Hall of Famers who excelled on both sides of the Ambassador Bridge – believe Trestman would have no trouble making the conversion back to the American game. He’s spent the past five seasons coaching the Montreal Alouettes, winning Grey Cup titles in 2009-10.
Grant and Levy offered the 56-year-old former Browns offensive coordinator and long-time NFL assistant strong endorsements Wednesday. Trestman has been interviewed by the Browns and Chicago Bears in recent days.
“He’s made all the stops and coached in almost every capacity,” said Grant, who guided the Minnesota Vikings to four NFC titles in the 1960s and 70s. “We try to make football more complicated than it really is. Coaching is coaching whether it’s here or in Canada. The same principles apply.”
For MBTL
Marv Levy, who won two CFL championships, said the Canadian league offers the best football outside the NFL. The Grey Cup winner, he added, would “dominate” the best college teams.
Really starting to like the idea of Trestman as a HC.
Only candidate so far to build a program from the ground up and win championships. IMO his experience doing so trumps NFL Coordinator experience and College Head coaches experience. Also he has those as well. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

Thought the endorsement of 2 HoF coaches putting there stamp on a candidate deserved it's own thread. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

You had good intentions, but when you do something like, i dunno, incorrectly spell the dudes name, it has the opposite impact. The guys name is clearly spelled correctly in your first posts subject matter, which means you prolly copy and pasted the entire bit. _________________

you do realize what you copy and paste you should put in quote blocks so people can distinguish between what you wrote and what they wrote, right _________________

5 years and 3,285 copypasta'd articles later, the answer is obvious. |

Back on topic.
Trestman's endorsement is the topic at hand that and Levy saying CFL teams would dominate the top NCAA schools. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

I'm intrigued by Trestman. Don't know too much bout him except that he is a prestigious CFL coach.
Zimmer would still be my first choice though. _________________

He has been an OC that has some explosive aireal offences using the WCO.
He has been a HC at NC state.
Bernie Kosar had him as a QB coach and calls him a genius.

Kosar could be used in some facet. The dude may sound stupid as all hell but the way he can dissect a play presnap is truly remarkable. He has a great football mind. _________________

C'mon guys. I love Bernie but his head is nowhere near where it has to be to run a NFL offense.
Just cuz you were a pretty good qb doesn't mean you'd be a good qb coach. Hell half the good qbs weren't very good coaches and vice versa. _________________
