Here's the roster as it stands
http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/roster/_/name/phi/philadelphia-eagles

what are our strengths on offense?
what are our strengths on defense?

do we have pieces on the team NOW that we can build the team around going forward?

IMO (taking into account youth and potential i know some hate the p word)

note: many guys on my list are unnamed but probably deserve mention, just because they don't appear here it doesn't mean I don't think they can be integral to the team as we move forward. These are the "upper echelon" names.

offense
Lesean Mccoy
Bryce Brown
Riley Cooper
Desean Jackson
Jason Kelce
Brent Celek

defense
Trent Cole (still makes it)
Brandon Graham
Fletcher Cox
Mychal Kendricks
Brandon Boykin (needs to start this year IMO)

Strength on O: No more Marty. LeSean McCoy. That's it.
Strength on D: We have none assuming we switch to 3-4, just a lot of questions marks who might be good, like Cox and Graham, but could also suck.
No, we do not have the pieces to build a team with aside from RB.
It will be 2015 before we're competing for a wild card birth.

I'd put Ryans down on Defense too if Cole is still there.

The off-season will be very important and I really hope we can give Chip some legit tools to work with.

Agreed. Should bring in a lot of young unproven competition in my opinion.
I agree with Ryans too. I'm just worried if we go the 3-4 route. I don't think he's going to be terrible, but I think he is at his best when playing the MIKE role in a 4-3.

McCoy, Peters if he's healthy.

That's about it.

I'm confident in McCoy.

Every other position is dependant on what scheme we run so I have to hold off until I know what we're running

It seems like we are going to rock a 3-4 next year no matter what. We haven't even been linked to a 4-3 D coordinator yet. I don't think Quinn was ever a real target. Makes me sad, cuz I love the 4-3.

Strengths Offensively: Running Backs - McCoy is a top 5 RB and we all know how awesome he is. Bryce Brown is a Ricky William type talent/athlete. Polk is unknown but he has street cred from college, and hes the size of the a linebacker with the tools waiting to be applied. Havili is solid and versatile role player. Lewis is versatile and still has a lot of use in certain schemes.

Strength Defensively: Defensive Line- Savvy tough veterans in Trent Cole and Cullen Jenkins. Cox is a monster and his name is known around league and he hasnt even began to really play, he has the highest ceiling of any Eagle and one of the freakier ceilings of all the young players in the league, Graham looks beast and determined hes a guy coaches love, Graham IMO could do a lot of different things on the field but hes just foaming at the mouth to get after the quarterback. Thorton and Curry are really interesting young prospects at this point, they could turn out to be great role players. If Big Dix could stay healthy he is another guy who can be a solid rotational depth.

Strengths: RB
Weakness: Everything else on the roster.

Running Back and Kicker are the only position on the team I feel comfortable with.
We have good depth but lack of quality starter at several other positions like WR, O-Line, D-Line, LB and TE.
As a whole our Safty's and CB suck.
Special team coverage is bad.
The return game is suspect.
All this depends on scheme. Kelly can talk all he wants about players dictating scheme but that couldn't be further from the truth. You have to have a plan to build and you can't have a plan without a scheme.

Yeah I'm ready to roll with Marsh/Boykin if it comes to it.
Need to see if BB can offer more than just a slot guy. But I think he's got enough vertical and is fluid enough of an athlete to have success outside.

I'm ready to start freaky fresh.

McCoy, Brown, Peters, Todd, Kelce, D-Jax, Mathis and Celek are all guys that hold value to me. McCoy and a healthy Peters would be the only REAL strengths as of now.

Cole, Cox, Jenk, Graham, Ryans, Kendricks, Aso, DRC all have certain value on defense. Cole and Cox are the only strengths with the uncertainty withstanding.

Everyone else can go if need be.

And the kickers are fine.

I would try and bring in new players at every position besides running back.

Andy with his awful drafting has left us pretty depleted.
