I would take Dion Jordan. Easy. Freaky Athlete, Blue Collar Mentality, Super Versatile, Well Coached, Physical, Tough.
I look at Jordan and just imagine him being the best of both worlds of Manny Lawson and Michael Johnson of the Bengals. Hes 245 right now, but you could be looking at a 6'6 260-265 lb 4.6 speed versatile DE/OLB/Defensive Weapon BEAST. He has such natural flexibility and explosion in his hips for some one with his length, one of the most fluid athlete on defense at that size i have seen. You can put him on a tight end or big slot receiver in coverage(they used him like a nickel corner at times) or play him in the box as a linebacker to just attack to the run and cover inside the hashes or have him rush the passer from a variety of spots on the field.
I just see a gift to the defense in Jordan. Big ceiling to develop into a force at the LOS, but he can give instant value cause of his athletic ability and versatility. _________________

Even if Geno, Star, and Luke were all available at 3, I wouldn't really want any of them. _________________

That was to my discussion with Roll about the Dee Miliner's comparison to Charles Tillman that I made.....I asked him and he agreed. Mostly because I was wondering if he fit Lovie's scheme, which I thought he did.
Then I looked up who the experts said they thought he compared to and they said Tillman as well. _________________

I'd take Jarvis Jones pretty easily, the Spinal Stenosis thing is a little overblown. Still a red flag, but I guarantee that doctors will see it as not being a problem in the near future. A pass rushing OLB would be great for us, we could give him a Von Miller role. |
...the bolded....
You can guarantee that? You are a doctor yourself, or what? Jones' condition is no joke. If it were nothing serious, he'd be the top pick in the draft most likely. Teams are clearly worried about it.
But I mean...I guess since you guaranteed that it won't be a problem....
All I know is that spinal stenosis is no laughing matter...and it can seriously derail a player's career, just like with McNeill. Not sure if I'm comfortable taking that risk at number 4.
For the topic at hand...I guess either Werner, Moore, or maybe Mingo. I personally wouldn't care if we went Jordan or Ansah, but I know some people here would lose their ish at even the idea of doing that.
To everyone saying Milliner at 4....No. Just no. That'd be the worst possible pick there out of all the realistic options. I'd rather take Chance Warmack than him. If we're gonna reach on a CB, might as well be the better one with Banks. But no thanks to either at that spot.

It's a shame there aren't any studs in this draft.
Usually top 4 means you'll get someone nasty for year... We are so unlucky. _________________

Personally, I take the gamble at 4. If the top 3-4 options are all DE's you take the most physically gifted one with the highest upside (I feel like Dion and Mingo fit this).
I haven't read or seen much of Milliner but I feel like its a reach because of need not necessarily because he's the 4th best player in the draft. _________________

Seriously?
If Geno was there and we passed on him I'd smash my TV. Same with Star.
Joeckel, if he's there, I wouldn't care too much if we took him. Don't really want him ,but I wouldn't be really pissed like if we took Dee Milliner. _________________

I think Milliner could get some serious consideration. Not necessarily who I would want, as the value for a CB may be better later in this draft, but I could see him getting a serious look if three players you mentioned are off the board. _________________

I was never really impressed with Geno. If we take him top 5 that means we have to start him and hang on to him for 3 or 4 years even if he sucks. It also means there is zero chance we go after Teddy Bridgewater next year, even tho we will probably be picking in the top 5 again.
I think Kawann Short can have just as good of an NFL career as Star. Not really sure what makes Star a top 5 pick besides hype. He could be good, but it wouldn't surprise me if he never makes a pro bowl either. I think Star is about even with Brockers as a prospect and should go more towards the 10-15 range if this class wasn't so weak at the top. _________________
