I'm still high on Dion Jordan.
However like I mentioned; our biggest need is ILB. To fix that position, allowing a true line-up that can be on field through no-huddle and Larry Foote can't do that, his weakness have been hidden by Lamarr Woodley or our safeties and that can't be continued because we need our pass-rushers.
However we are likely to draft a pass-rusher over ILB, in that case- Dion Jordan (but would rather Chase Thomas in 1st due to his versatility but has low ceiling)
Financially and trend suggest D-lineman will be the pick, if that's the case- Jesse Williams.
Our D-line doesn't blow up on stat sheet and asked to do variety things, bottom line when you have your agent coming in asking for the big raise- they can't because it doesn't show up on stat sheet and the value wouldn't be inflate in market. So that play in our favor.
I personally just want a surprise because this year is a good year to do that. I suspect it will be a good pick but a big shock. Somebody like a cornerback or receiver (no safety, please! )
If I have to put it in ranking of BPA between three players...
Jesse Williams
Dion Jordan
Manti Te'o
For our bigger needs meeting BPA
Manti Te'o
Dion Jordan/Chase Thomas
Jesse Williams (after other guys that I would list here)
It depends on who we release. I hope we can release, sign back James Harrison like we did with Max Starks because it will benefit us in many ways. |

I really like DJ Swearinger. Big hitter, some say he's a tad stiff, but he has the speed to make plays everywhere. Swearinger covers WR/TE in the slot and plays with great coverage. Looks like a player who will draw penalties for big hits, but as seen in the Arkansas game will make big plays.
Right now I'd value Swearinger over almost all of the SS/FS in this draft. _________________

I wouldn't take him at #17, but I'd take him in the 2nd depending on who's available and who's the Steelers signed/retain. _________________

Andrew Jackson ILB is returning for his senior season as is Taylor Lewan OT ( who would have been a 1st round choice). _________________

Wow i dont like that for Lewan, felt he couldve been #1 overall possibly. He had an injury scare this year and think he risks that with another year. _________________

That's one of the most, if not thee most, surprising decision for sure regarding the draft. I just assumed he was going to come out. _________________

Jessie Williams is the best pure 3-4 NT in the draft...Casey Hampton redux.
Nico Johnson seems to be a 2 down thumper but would be a good fit next to Timmons...I wouldn't like him in the 2nd but anytime after would be a good fit for the Steelers value wise. _________________

ick. Hope not. It does make a bit too much sense though. We have drafted OSU in the first 2 rounds in each of the past 2 seasons, and 4 times since 2010. _________________

Gimme Jesse Williams over Hankins.
At least Williams wouldn't have to unlearn everything he learned...
within our system, Williams will fit in just RIGHT where Hankins will have to take up some time to develop and i'm not even sure if he will play out to his potentials... |

I would like you guys to look at Brandon Kaufman from Eastern Washington. I am totally biased, but this guys can play. Comes up with big plays all the time. Most dominant receiver I have ever seen live. However this is at the FCS level. _________________
