I had Monday off, Australia Day, so I cannot complain, though I will. |
Auckland Anniversary. I had Monday off too...Booyah. |
Once upon a time I wanted to become a Kiwi ...
Can regular people still afford to live near the water around Wellington?
I want plenty of days off, cheap healthcare, and plenty of sheep too |

If you live in Wellington you will not have to be near sheep.
1 - It depends what water
2 - The answer anyway is probably not
3 - We don't have that many days off, it just happens that two of them fall within the space of two week. We got for a period of the year with 6 months without a stat day.
4 - It is terribly, terribly unaffordable to live in NZ. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

It doesn't look that expensive. Don't you all basically live in holes in the ground?

Yeah - the Kiwi dream died looking at the job market of course. It is expensive - if you've got enough money you can get past the immigration rules without a job, but that's a ton of money.
Something cool about islands though - when they're big enough.
Australia sounds like fun - Alice Springs is actually supposed have a similar climate to Phoenix. Plenty of room to tear around off-roading too ... interesting . |

Laugh now, but that would probably set you back 200k. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Been thinking about it, not so much moving, but at least making a visit. My sister and brother in law live in Perth. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Perth is nice, everyone raves about it
Problem is, it is so far away, 5 hrs flight, meh, it is on my bucket list, maybe later in the year.
Wife is bugging me to head O/S this year, just after we build a new house.
I am not made of money ! |

You could not pay me enough money to move out of country (unless we're talking Canada), but Alice Springs? Never even heard of it until I did a quick google maps search and... Are you crazy?

Have I touched on the Gila Bend of Australia?
Perth sounds nice - funny thing is I think Perth is the city that's about the furthest away from Phoenix on the globe. Beach activities there I'm sure are great - I always get worried about the critters out there though. Then again you get stung by bark scorpions right in your house in the valley.
Maybe a place in the shire is still it - nothing like a magical fairy-land with plenty of little people and more actors per-capita than any place in the world. My daughters are liking that - even if it costs a lot . |
