The Seahawks are expected to sign defensive end Patrick Chukwurah to take Clemons place on the roster. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network
Chukwurah hasn’t played in the NFL since 2008

two years.
2009-10.
Chuckwurah, the former Broncos linebacker and special teams ace, signed a contract with the Seahawks Tuesday night to take Clemons' spot on the roster. He beat out a trio of bigger named defenders including Ray Edwards, Aaron Maybin and Travis LaBoy.
Chukwurah's best season in the NFL came in 2006 with the Broncos when he totaled 4.5 sacks. He was drafted in the 5th round of the 2002 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings and spent 2 seasons with the purple before spending 3+ seasons with the Broncos. Chukwurah last played in the NFL late in the 2008 season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Chukwurah led the UFL in sacks two straight seasons before becoming a personal trainer in hopes of finding a way back to the NFL.

I trust Pete and John so much that Im not even going to question this
But the one thing im wondering is why dont they put Irvin in? They did draft him to be his replacement. _________________ Trying is the first step towards failure

I'm sure they were looking for quickness off of the LOS. Frankly those other guys seem just as under whelming as Chuk. Thats the biggest thing we want out of our leo is to beat the OT with the 1st step.
I remember him, he was a tweener DE, but couldn't really play in space. His gig was always as a pass rusher more so than a linebacker. I'm sure his get off was much quicker then the other three, surprised it wasn't Rahim Brock. _________________ I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous. |

He is going to replace Bruce Irvin as a situational pass rusher. He beat out Aaron Maybin (not hard), Travis LaBoy (not hard) and Ray Edwards (no pass rush) _________________
