Damn.. I had so much fun with this last year. We had a great time. I bet we were the top forum during that stretch as well.

I highly enjoyed the drunken doubling of the words "of the." I was sauced about 12 hours a day for that. Had to keep the juices flowing. Laughing my liver filed a grievance with its local union board.

Yes we by far have the most active war room with 50 pages.

But lets not forget about everyone else.

Shout out to the Bears and Cardinals for their milestone achievements today. They both reached page two in their respective war rooms today.
Congrats guys!

Miami gets:

Eh. You'll be fine. If I accept a job with Dallas(depends on how the STL GM situation plays out), I'm a Cap genius. Can help whoever is in that role. Cool

Free Agent Resigning

Teams will have an opportunity to resign some of their unrestricted free agents before they hit the free agency market. Each team will have the opportunity to resign up one unrestricted free agents. If they fail to resign or chose to abandon a bid, they may move on to trying another free agent. Resigning free agents is treated exactly like other UFRA's, in that the interested team must submit a bid and contract to the player. Bids will be highly considered in the initial resigning process. Any free agent not resigned will be sent to the UFRA pool. Teams may continue to bid on free agents once they have been sent to the talent agency like any other available FA.

Resigning free agents must use the same contract rules as other Free Agents.

Contract Restructuring

Up to two contracts may be restructured by submitting a bid and contract to the Talent Agency for your currently signed player. The bid and contract will play a large part in the potential resigning of a free agent, and it will be at the discretion of the talent agency to decide a resigning. If a restructuring fails, or is abandoned, you may re-use that attempt on a different player until up to two players have signed new contracts.

The Cowboys, and probably several other teams, have several player contracts with club options built in to restructure contracts. The way it typically works is that the players base salary is reduced to the minimum allowed salary and the balance becomes a signing bonus, so that money is distributed over several years as far as cap hit. If we are able to find sources proving that these clauses are already built into some of the contracts we want to restructure, can we execute these options without it counting against our allotment of restructures?

Thanks.

Interesting question. I will confirm and respond and update the rules accordingly.

If this request is turned down, we may have no choice but to blow the team up. If we are limited to two restructures, I assume we would do Romo and Carr, but that wouldn't open up enough room to get us below the cap, so we'd have to start trading away some of our talent.

Did we get an answer on this?

Trying to get to the bottom of this, they would like to have evidence of this being true. Anyone have evidence of this.

The Cowboys have a built-in trigger in Brandon Carrís contract that will lower his $16.3 million cap number and save about $10.5 million based on how they structured his contract when he signed last year. They can re-work the deals of DeMarcus Ware, Jason Witten and Miles Austin to roughly save another $11 million.

The restructuring does not add money to a playerís pocket, nor does it take any out of it. Itís simply an accounting tool to help teams with the cap.
