Also you don't get paid till August, so no harm done |
Good to know. A lot of people are expecting a mass exodus of lineman right away but it gives us options to wait. I assume they'll tell Stew-Brad to get lost, though. _________________

Bradley, Early, King should be released almost immediately, Skelton should too. Saves a decent chunk of change and the cost is little to the on-field product. _________________

Agreed on all those guys.
Next on the chopping/trade/restructure block are:
Kevin Kolb
Levi Brown
Adam Snyder
Beanie Wells
Kerry Rhodes- restructure only
Something must be done with those guys. And then you have guys like Darnell Dockett and Adrian Wilson whose futures are up in the air for various reasons. |

Dockett's the big one. Cutting/trading him would really hit us and I also believe he won't restructure. Very money hungry guy who fought and whined and cried to get the extension he's playing on now. And after the whole spit incident/fine? I don't think he's working with us anytime soon. Do we take the hit and just rid ourselves of the guy or do we try and patch things up? That's the question. _________________

I think he does more for the team here than he does elsewhere. Especially as it will cost us cap room to get rid of him. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

It would cost the Cardinals $13.45M in dead money (cap space) to cut or trade D. Dockett http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/arizona-cardinals/darnell-dockett/ |

Number was provided by the owner of that site. I think it has something to do with the $30M guaranteed and how much of that he's received. |

If you arranged the list by 2013-2014 and by highest salary first (i dont think it's including any bonuses for the year etc.)
Need to restructure Kolb, Fitzgerald, drop Bradley, restructure Dockett, restructure Snyder, make a decision on A-Dub, extend Rhodes, drop Doucet, extend Peterson if he's eligible. |

I was under the impression that guaranteed salary is picked up by a team if we trade him. We only have to accelerate monies already paid, which is the $15M option bonus, of which $9M still needs to hit the cap. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

The owner of the site is incorrect. _________________

Doesn't matter either way, Darnell's been paid out nearly 28 million of this deal in cash. _________________

So we are still sitting at the $9M number to hit the cap via his bonus? _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Yes. The workout bonus is tricky though, as the new CBA put in revisions that force us to pay I believe 50% of anything contractual over 100K. I'd have to confirm that but I believe we're on the hook for half of that 250K as well. _________________
