This is a fairly accurate projecton, I lost the link I got it from and in a hurry right now but I will post it later, But here they are:
3rd round- Houston (1)
4th round- Oakland (1), Baltimore (1), Green Bay (1), Detroit (1)
5th round- Atlants (1), Baltimore (1), San Fransico (1)
6th round- Baltimore* (2), Carolina (2), Houston (3), Oakland (3), Miami (1)
7th round- Arizona, Atlanta, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, Green Bay, Jacksonville, Miami, Tennesse, Pittsburg all get 1 and Philly and KC both get 2
* Baltimore should have recived a 4th, 5th, 6th and 2 7th, but since a team can only recieve 4 picks, the NFL adds the 2 7ths and makes them 1 6th.
Heres the link with explanations

This what I posted in the other thread in the Draft forum :
| Quote: |
I don't see why Kansas City wouldn't get a third round compensatory pick for losing Brandon Carr considering the free agent contract he signed with the Cowboys. Also, several of the free agents with bigger contracts that the Chiefs signed were cut by other teams so I don't believe they count in the formula (Stanford Routt and Eric Winston for example).
I am curious how the Texans got a third round pick? As I mentioned, Eric Winston was cut so he wouldn't count for or against the Texans in any compensatory formula. |
Edit : Ahh, Mario Williams for the Texans!
I still am not sure I see the Carr-Quinn 7th round comp pick. _________________

Looks like we're adding to our league lead in comp picks received.
Who's throwing big money at Paul Kruger, Dannell Ellerbe, and Cary Williams this offseason? _________________

You only get a 3rd round pick if you lose more FA's than you sign and other things go your way. The Cheifs gained one lost one so they can only get a 7th round pick based on contract differences.
Also, does anyone have a confirmed report of how cut players work? I know that is you cut a player they are not a "loss" but the signing of a player who was cut is still a "gain" I beleive. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Bang, a 3rd rounder and THREE 6th rounders. Rick Smith does a lot of moving in the mid rounds, so the Texans have some hedging with these selections; The comped picks can't be traded, but look for the Texans to move our existing 3rd rounder into a 4th and a 5th, and bank on the comped pick to cover the 3rd round.
This team needs a lot of depth at a few spots, and this gives the team some money in the bank to find some developmental players at critical spots - a WR to take over for AJ one day, a QB to groom in case Matt Schaub continues down this current path, a RB to groom which would make Ben Tate expendable (maybe for a draft pick, hmm?) a few DBs to develop behind Danieal Manning and Glover Quin, a OLB to take the "6th man" spot that Whitney Mercilius currently has ('çause I'm confident that this is Connor Barwin's last year as a Texan and Mercy should be the starter) some ILB depth, a NT that can take the snaps that Shaun Cody used to take, an extra TE (for once, we don't have enough).
If we can lean on the draft and let a few FA names walk (namely Barwin, who could be one of the top FAs on the market after teams are done deciding who is staying and who is going) they could find themselves with another good Comp pick haul next season. _________________

Kevin Boss was cut by the Raiders and signed by the Chiefs. I didn't think cut players counted for or against a team in the comp pick formula. _________________

Under the old cba they did not count as "additions" but I'm not sure if anything has changed. Pretty good hall for ravens and texans if it shakes out this way. _________________
