Best GM ever. |
But......but...... what's going to happen to the Jaguar fans who were counting on Tebow to lead them out of the wilderness? Like the guy on here who posted bare-chested photos of the new and bulked-up Tebow? |
Most, if not all, were being sarcastic. _________________

Watch Tebow never starts in the NFL again and struggle the rest of his brief career. He just brings a lot of baggage in terms of media/psychotic fans. I wonder to how "cool-flexible" Tebow really is, and if he acts one way for the camera and another way behind the scenes, he might not want to change positions or be very coachable. Its going to be interesting. I would love a team to find a way to get him on the field as a weapon, cause hes so dope when hes just trucking dudes, but it might not ever happen. _________________

Would depend on the pick, but at this time, he would flourish in the same system with equal or better weapons [debatable] around him. _________________

The 49ers have a clear advantage at TE and OL. WR is debatable, but the 49ers probably have more depth. _________________

That amazing 49er OL is a big reason for his success. Jags will have to work on their OL for Alex. He's not good with pressure. Would be a solid stop-gap. _________________

That would mean tampering. Tampering would mean draft picks for the Jets. _________________

We do need a #2 TE and he's probably still better than Zach Potter. _________________

Good for Jacksonville I miss them playing us twice a year great games. Sentiment has no place in building a team. _________________

No problem with Smith coming to Jax, but has to be as a waiver/released kind of deal. I don't think it makes sense for the Jags to trade say, a 4th rounder for him, and THEN have to use a 2rd/3rd for a young QB (since Smith is likely not the long-term guy either).
That's two less picks the team can use elsewhere to improve depth/starters.
It will likely be a FA QB that the team can bring as a stop gap, and then drafting another guy of Caldwell's choosing.
Also, it sounds like Blaine Gabbert will still be given a chance (since he's still under contract, unless someone offers a deal for him, highly unlikely):
| Quote: | Caldwell isn’t ready to give up on Gabbert, who he said may need more time.
“He is still young,’’ Caldwell said. “He’s had two different offensive coordinators in his first two years. Get a coach in here and get some sustainability for him. I think it’s important to see what he can do. Look at some quarterbacks. It takes maybe more than two years, three or four years. He came out as a junior and he’s a very young quarterback and he still has a lot of upside.
“I always thought Blaine was going to be a long-term project when he came out anyway. I studied him when he came out and he came out from the spread offense. I felt like it was going to be a longer process for him. Look at the quarterbacks like Matt Ryan and Peyton Manning, they spent a full five years in college. Blaine should be a rookie coming out this year. Let’s work with him.’’
