Love the move! Better blocker than Casey and can be useful as a runner also. _________________

I'm kinda hoping Clutts beat him out. Glad we'll have a good FB competition. _________________

Another need checked off the list. Can he be Leach2.0? Certainly the same type of player. Plus it's always nice to take good players from divisional rivals. _________________

It won't be a competition. I think Clutts is going to either be waived or serve as the backup FB again like he was last season behind Casey. Jones will be the starter.
BTW, MJD is pissed. _________________

Holy crap what a block on that kickoff return.
I hope we use him for special teams also. It would really help our return guy (Martin, Manning or whomever it is) having a great blocker to open holes. _________________

Great signing. If we can sign a OLB or WR, This FA period would be perfect. _________________

I agree too that we are close to done, however there are still some WR and OLBs available that could make us more flexible draft day.
I am surprised we haven't kicked the tires on DHB. McClain has been preaching about how they want a young and fast WR. DHB fits that perfectly, has a ton of potential, AND is a terrific blocker. _________________

| He does sound like Vonta 2.0 and looks like it from that video clip. I'm happy with this signing. I'm actually surprised at this signing though, in a way this is Kubiak admitting a mistake that a pro bowl FB can't be replaced by an undersized TE. If he blocks well for Foster and helps us to get our running game back where it should be then he'll be a fan favorite here as well. |

Said this before and I support it again. But it looks like he is picking between Detroit & Indy.... c'mon Lions! lol |

There was no mistake. On the open market Leach got 3 years / $11 million. Casey got 3 years / $12 million. We are paying a top 3 FB $1 million to play for us (1/4th the market value of the other guys).
As Texans, Leach played 4 years / $8 million and Casey played for 4 years / $1.9 million. We got 8 years out of 2 players for less than the Ravens or Eagles got 3 years for one of them. Texans FBs play 33% of snaps. Arian has rushed for 100 ypg, 94ypg, 95 ypg, plus 1 td per game the past 3 seasons with 3 different lead blockers (if you throw Vickers in there). It's not a mistake, it's smart football economics.
The way I see it, Leach's hype is based more about how he looks and a few pancake type hits he delivers and a dearth of name players at a position few teams feature. Ray Rice had career lows last year and Leach only plays 40% of snaps for them.
The only "mistake" was Kubiak failing to find ways to creatively incorporate Casey into the passing game from the FB spot the past two years. _________________
