The 3 biggest needs I feel the team has to address are OLB, ILB, and S. So I used Walterfootball.com's round mock to use as a template and I picked 3 different possible scenarrios using the players available at each pick in that mock and picking the 3 positions listed above. Here are the 3 scenarios:
Scenario 1
1. OLB Mingo/Montgomery/Ansah
2. ILB Skov
3. S Lester
Scenario 2
1. ILB Minter
2. S Amerson
3. ILB C. Thomas
Scenario 3
1.S Elam/Vaccaro
2.OLB Okafor
3. ILB C. Thomas
My personal Favorite would be 3 picking Elam Okafor and C Thomas. I think that scenario hits all 3 need very well. What do you guys think? Which one would you prefer? |

I prefer Scenario 2. Minter is a stud at ILB and he is better in pass coverage than most realize. Amerson is a ballhawk in the Secondary and I like that. Needs to work on tackling but I prefer turnovers. Thomas is a solid player who can probably play OLB and ILB in our scheme. I prefer Skov but you did a solid job. _________________

Skov is going back to school. Minter is not worth the 17th pick. Any safety would be a reach at 17. Chase Thomas is an outside linebacker.
Montomery
Alec Ogletree
T.J. McDonald
Would work for me

Actually in our scheme Thomas is best suited to be an ILB and most likley if he was drafted that is what it would be as. |

Nice but I don't see Ogletree being there when we pick in the 2nd. _________________

I am just basing it on CBSSports ratings. I'm sure they will change _________________

I understand. Ogletree would be nice in the 2nd if he is there! _________________

Why do you guys always do these Scenario threads or the pick this mock or that mock?
why not just do your own mock and have people comment on it.
Scenario 3 for me _________________

How about trading down to the later 20s and picking up an extra 2nd rounder?
1. Elam
2. Okafor
2. J Williams
3. Thomas or a RB/WR if they choose |

3. Thomas or a RB/WR if they choose | because trading down 5-10 spots in the late 1st won't net you an extra second. It will get you a 3rd... maybe... _________________

Why get Ogletree when by all accounts he is another Timmons, aka, won't get to see the field cos he can't play buck and can't play mack for 3 years either _________________

I'll take Olgetree in the 2nd rather than the 1st. That is why. _________________

When the team drafts an ILB they need the Buck, they need the big run stuffer who will take over for Larry Foote when he retires. This is a good role for Te'o, guys like Kevin Minter, Shayne Skov, Kevin Reddick, Andrew Jackson (Western Kentucky), Jonathan Bostic, Nico Johnson, A.J. Klein, Chris Borland, Bruce Taylor or Michael Mauti _________________
