Seems like Haslim and Banner are not thrilled with the ones we have. What do you think the Browns do? I'd give Weeden one more year. However I could see them signing a vet like Alex Smith and than drafting one this year or next year. Now I'm not saying it has to be Smith just a vet to stabilise the team. _________________ browns and indian fan 7272

They are only limited by their ability to acquire one. Nothing about Weeden or McCoy's contracts is going to prohibit bringing someone in.
Hard to really tell who it's going to be until we get a coach and an offensive coordinator in place, but the one thing I am grateful for missing out on Chip Kelly for is that we don't have to hear how Mike Vick, Joe Webb or Terrell Pryor would be franchise QBs here. |

I don't think Haslam and Banner are going to sign a stop gap QB. That's what I think they see Weeden as anyways. So no to Alex Smith or guys like Michael Vick.
We can wait another year, or go out and grab one late in the draft.
Or trade our 3rd round pick for one this year if we really think we need to.
Ryan Mallett (not a big fan, but he is solid)
Kirk Cousins (loved him coming out, love him now, but they won't trade him)
Matt Flynn (meh)...especially for a 3rd round pick
T.J. Yates (YES PLEASE!!!) I was on love with him when he came out in the draft, and I want him. Would probably go for a 4th.
NFL Draft:
1. Tahj Boyd/QB/Clemson
2. Geno Smith/QB/West Virginia
3. Matt Barkley/QB/USC
4. Mike Glennon/QB/NC State
5. Sean Renfree/QB/Duke------Steal...will be a good QB in the NFL & will cost a 5th-7th round pick[/b] |

Anyone but Weeden. I would like to see a legit QB comp between Colt and Weeden and the winner takes it.
I agree we can wait another year on our QB. _________________

I'm pretty sure Brandon Weeden is going to be our QB. Also, I think Colt McCoy is our back up QB. _________________

I think he has the best chance but I could take a better guess once we hire our new coach. That will be his biggest decision. |

There is no QB on our roster that would make a coach come here drooling. All I'm saying is if we bring a coach in he will want to pick who runs his offense... Happens pretty often. |

Agree.
H&H&S were committed (over-committed?) to Weeden.
A new guy won't be.
And while the new guy's O scheme will influence who will be qb, so will the fact that Banner and Haslam don't think Weeden's "the guy".
I agree with a "legit" qb comp taking place. Based on what I have read of him, Haslam won't stand for the type of charade "competition" H&H&S staged. _________________ Everything happens exactly the way it is supposed to happen...otherwise, it would happen some other way |

And let me tell you, if a new coach comes in here and gets rid of Weeden, it'll be just as awesome as when the new ownership group came in and fired Tom Heckert. _________________

And I completely agree. It isn't what I want. I've argued in favor of Weeden much more than I've been against him... It's all a waiting game now |

Sense makes now. What are you gonna do? New regimes mean unpopular decisions. |
