Derrick did wait a couple weeks before they went ahead with the surgery. |

They expect him to be ready and hope he=/= him being 100% guaranteed ready to go day 1.

| Turns out that Cousins wasnt such a bad pick after all. The Redskins must have figured that they may be needing a steady backup for Griffin given how they envisioned using Griffin. |

I bolded the part from the article that people seem to have a hard time comprehending. They HOPE he will be 100%. They have that HOPE because of his motivation.

He is speaking like a politician. They are pretty much doing damage control and are trying to say all the right things without lieing

hit the nail on the head. They want to sell tickets and merch. They would be foolish to say RG3 won't be ready. It's all about the dollars.
