I hope Captain Kirk steps up! Sucks to see RG3 out so long... Hopefully Shanny will turn RG3 into an almost exclusive pocket passer.

They are forecasting 14-18 months already? When is the last time a knee injury has taken that long?

I'm sceptical of this report.

I didn't realize it was that bad of a recovery...a minimum of 14 months?

Second injury to the same knee as he tore the ACL in back at Baylor, I suspect. ET's the one to turn to on repeat knee injuries around here, but that kind of rehab wouldn't shock me, particularly when he may have now damaged additionally one of the other supporting ligaments around the prior-torn ACL. Also could depend on the severity of the tear.

Other knee I believe.

But yeah, the Shanahan's should catch all kinds of crap for this. I feel terrible for the young man, and pretty bad for myself and fellow fans too.

Agreed, although this is no laughing matter.

I wish him nothing but the best in recovery, regardless of him being a divisional foe and an up-and-coming star in the NFL.

Shanahans will hopefully be fined the big bucks. Maybe suspended.
Just a really sad situation.

If the NFL doesn't do anything about this, all the crap about player safety is just noise. If I'm a retired player suing the NFL this is exhibit A of how they have been managed by the NFL.

i'd say that's likely, given AP's doctor, Dr James Andrews, is the Redskins' team physician and was standing next to RGIII on the field.

Isn't Andrews "THE" go-to guy for almost all players regarding knee situations?

Really feel bad about how this went down for RGIII. Hope he can come back from this.

That's horrible news. I wish him a speedy and healthy recovery.

Its not the medical staff, its the coaches who don't listen to the medical staff/don't allow the player to be examined.

RG3 would be my favorite non Cowboy if he wasnt on the Redskins. It truly sucks if his injury is this bad. I wish him a speedy recovery.

I also wish that Kirk plays well enough next year that they trade RG3 out of the division. That way I can root for him again Very Happy

Even if you agree with the initial decision to play Griffin, they probably should have pulled him after he went down in the first quarter, and definitely at the half. He clearly couldn't cut, had no burst, couldn't plant to make an accurate throw. I kept thinking it was only a matter of time before he got hurt.

Any injury like this to a player is sad to see. It's really sad when such a promising young player seriously exacerbates an injury so needlessly.
