Sharrif Floyd [DT] Florida
Height: 6025
Weight: 297 lbs
True Junior
31 3/4" Arms
10 1/8" Hands
77 3/4" Wingspan
4.92 40 YD Dash (1.70 10 YD Split)
30" Vertical Jump
8'10" Broad Jump
7.40 3-cone drill
4.75 short shuttle
| Quote: | STRENGTHS: Very good get-off burst and first step quickness to knife through the LOS…flexible and fluid for his size with loose hips and COD skills to stop on a dime and redirect his momentum…aggressive in pursuit with the range to make plays up, down and away from the LOS…violent hands and strong arms to rip past blockers with a relentless attitude…good awareness to quickly locate, track and attack…high motor and intense play style…versatile starting experience at both DE and DT.
WEAKNESSES: Needs to play more controlled and develop better discipline to play assignment sound and not overpursue his target…allows his pads to rise off the snap, struggling with leverage…has done a nice job developing his strength, but still has room to grow in this area…only average arm length…inconsistent footwork in the trenches, stopping his feet on contact…only average sack production, room to develop his pass rush moves (4.5 career sacks)…moved around too much in college.
SUMMARY: Arrived at Florida as a blue-chip recruit, but struggled to find a fit, switching between DE and DT...very active and is tough to block when his motor is at 100%...routinely the first DL off the ball and attacks gaps, using his upper and lower body momentum to surge through the LOS…plays angry, but needs to stay under control…has the skill-set to line up in any defensive front in the NFL, but ideally suited as a 3-tech DT who can move around when needed…legitimate top-10 talent. |

Excellent pick. Great fit as a UT in the 4-3 scheme. He is great run defender and excels at collapsing the pocket. Has to improve pass rush moves and finishing. Tremendous upside pick. _________________

Nice pick by the Vikings. Congrats, Vikings fans. He's going to fit in very nicely on that defensive line. _________________

Super great value, excellent pick. Good job on us sitting back and waiting for all these guys who are falling. Very happy, could be the best DT in the draft.

Unreal...
Back at pick 5 or so, they were talking about Floyd and I told my buddy: "Matt, I wish like hell this guy would last to 23. But there is zero chance it happens."
