If we took WR in Round 1 (pick #23), I would trade up to get :
Sharrif Floyd (maybe other DTs) or Kevin Minter using (MIN 2nd & 3rd) if available. _________________

I reaaaaally want to get Keenan Allen too, if he falls to 23, TAKE THE MAN! ESPECIALLY, if Percy is let go and then we can get a later round WR or FA to pair up with him. _________________

Exactly. Te'o is a college player that is supposed to be developing and Lewis is a declining player who everyone knew would have a bad season despite being the emotional leader. It is the opposite end of the spectrum. _________________

Da'Rick Rogers is a big time NFL Talent
Every mock draft I do I always have them taking Rogers.
I think if there were zero character concerns with the guy than he'd be the no doubt #1 WR in this class.
I don't think he'll go in the 1st so the Vikings can address another need in that round & than take him in the 2nd. _________________

Da'Rick Rogers would be my target is round 2 (#52 pick), if we went defense in the 1st round (DT/MLB).
Its also likely my preference _________________

IF this team moves on from Harvin, or even if they don't, I don't see them adding another potential headache at receiver. IMO. _________________

A guy that could be a sneaky good signing is Brad Jones of the Packers. He may end up getting squeezed out if the Pack don't cut AJ Hawk and he could potentially fit in at MLB or WLB.
Fits the mold of a Rick Spielman guy coming off of his rookie deal. _________________

You're right, they are on the opposite ends of the spectrum. The comparison, I believe, was just drawn because its a bit of proof that great players can have bad games; even in big games. I don't think that comparison, when thought upon at that level, is wrong to make. _________________

If we want Floyd it's sounding like we'll have to trade up with our first, not our 2nd.

I may be nit-picking, but I have an issue with a writer who deems someone playing a single year at a FCS school a "small-school" product. Rogers is far from a "small-school" product.
That's like calling Randy Moss a small school product because Marshall was a I-AA team in his freshman year. Rogers played 2 years at Tennessee and 1 year at Tenn Tech. He's not a small school product. Ok, nit-picking done.
Rogers is a significant talent that would fit the Vikings' needs, but the character does concern me. I'd consider him at 52, but if passed on there, he likely won't be available at 83. _________________

Is Phil Loadholt going to he re-signed before free agency?
Or do you think he hits the open market? _________________

How, ideally, I would see the draft work out.
The Draft
WR – Percy Harvin traded to the Seahawks for pick #25 and a conditional pick in 2014
*Bevell bangs the table to bring his former player to Seattle and pair him with Russell Wilson.
Vikings trade their 2nd and 4th round picks to move up to the middle of the 2nd round.
Vikings trade their 7th round pick for a 6th round pick in 2014.
1(23) – Shariff Floyd (DT) Florida
1(25) – DeAndre Hopkins (WR) Clemson
2(48) – Arthur Brown (LB) Kansas State
3(83) – Johnathan Cyprien (SS) Florida International
4(101) – Frank Winters (OG) Kent State
5(150) – Keith Pough (LB) Howard
6(181) – Emory Blake (WR) Auburn
7(201) – Khalid Wooten (CB/KR/PR) Nevada _________________

Doesn't that belong to Oakland or Detroit? |
Man If you read the post, I stated that IF one of the LBs slid to the 2nd Rd and the Vikes had picked a WR at 23, then the Vikes needed to work at trading up to get an Ogletree, Minter or maybe Teo.
In no way was I confused . . . at least I don't think I was, or was I? |
