Both those teams play hybrid 3/4, so not a Lovie scheme. But to answer question.. No I think he takes a year off before becoming a DC again |

Here is a good article from PFT.
| Quote: | | Now with former Saints offensive coordinator Doug Marrone, who worked for the Saints from 2006 through 2008, running the show in Buffalo, Marrone could be trying to make a run at Carmichael. |

I was thinking maybe Marrone would bring his QB coach at Syracuse Nate Hackett with him to Buffalo. Hackett was an offensive quality coach during the Jauron era. He is also the son of former USC Head Coach (1998-2000) Paul Hackett. _________________

Bought my Toronto Rogers Center tickets for next year already. So excited for the bills .
Btw I'm a Bills forum stalker.
Hope to see Ryan Nassib in a Bills jersey this coming year. You guys have no idea how bright your future is looking right now. _________________

The defence would at least appear to be much easier to fix with the real problem being a mediocre passing game.
Understandable why people don't like the move but as far as being a smarter hire on paper Marrone >>>>>> Jauron/Gailey. | Who is going to hire Smith when his answer to the question of how he would fix an offense is "Huh?" |

Was a little concerned about this hiring, initially. "Was Saints OC with Brees `06-08 blah, blah, blah..." They passed even more than Chan did back then! After doing some researching, it seems Marrone wasn't totally in control of that offense though. Also, since taking over at Syracuse, he has been primarily a run 1st guy, which is what I'd expect from a former OL. His offense's stats:
Year....Run....Run %....Pass....Pass %....Team
2006....370....35.54....671......64.46......Saints
2007....392....37.55....652......62.45......Saints
2008....398....38.49....636......61.51......Saints
2009....421....54.32....354......45.68......SU
2010....448....55.17....364......44.83......SU
2011....396....48.65....418......51.35......SU
2012....555....53.99....473......46.01......SU
I'm liking this hire now. I'll like it even more if we can get a good 4-3 DC in here...Tucker's stats may not look the most impressive, but given the Jag's inability to move the ball, I think it's a lot more respectable than initially appears. Keep in mind though, that he is only slightly more likely to blitz than Wanny was, so... _________________

^^ It IS nice to see that he had a very balanced attack at Cuse. Hopefully he'll bring that same philosophy to Buffalo. _________________

Carmichael is the most realistic OC to come to Buffalo, maybe norv but i doubt it.
Bills are looking to interview Pettine DC from the jets I dont think I like this if he plans on moving the defense in the 3-4 direction that was a disaster the last time they did it. Stick with 4-3 especially with Mario. Jets just elevated their DBs coach to DC so it looks like Pettine will be on another team next year. _________________
