| Streater has really impressed - how did we find such a gem (more to the point, how come nobody else drafted him) |

There are literally 1000's of guys who could contribute on the professional level. However, opportunities are limited and it's even more rare to get an obscure guy into the right system. It's basically like hitting the lottery.
Take Streater with a grain of salt. Even established players go away like a flash in a pan. No one is as high on Moore as they were. The scheme changed and DHB went from being a potential 1K WR to being phased out of the offense. David Tyree is associated with the greatest reception in Super Bowl history was out of the league next season. Streater? meh. _________________ 2013 Mancrush: DT Richardson, OT Joeckel, FS Vaccaro, FS Rambo, WR Dobson, RB Michael, TE McDonald, OT Foketi, WR Swope |

Not necessarily, a pay cut on his current contract is probably more then he would get from any other team as a free agent. Obviously depending on how severe of a pay cut but I don't think anybody is suggesting that he plays for league minimum or anything like that. _________________

Not commenting on DHB here but that is a ridiculous comparison.
Considering CJ has 60m guaranteed in his contract to compare base salaries is purile. |
True, but DHB will have the 3rd highest cap hit amongst WRs next year. That puts him ahead of Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, and Roddy White. |
Oh believe me I'm not defending him and certainly not defending his cap hit I just think it is totally stupid to compare how much he actually earns this year compared to CJ. |

I think comparing base salaries is pointless, but it is still depressing to see that all together, DHB will cost us more than nearly every Pro Bowl WR in the league. _________________

I think Huff is more valuable to our team than DHB. Our WR corps w/o DHB looks a lot better than our DBs do w/o Huff. Another year with Gio starting at FS? Barf. _________________

Every single one of our safeties need to GTFO. Palmer is also worth way more to the team than Bey is. Huff at CB though looked legit. Not the money he's earning legit, but none-the-less. _________________

I agree our S spots need work, but it it really came down to DHB or Huff, I'm taking Huff, regardless of what position they stick him at. I really dont think we would notice if DHB were gone, but another year with someone like Gio starting in our defensive backfield would surely stick out. _________________

Oh I agree. I liked Bey but w/ all these young guys producing, his role is seemingly getting smaller and smaller. If Ford can ever stay healthy, we'll be good on the speed and he can actually catch.... better....
I don't want anything to do w/ Gio. Even if it means he's getting the other people water. I'm so sick of seeing him. _________________

I would only b/c of the amount of cap space it would require to get him. Our WRs will get better and produce more w/ more experience and a solid running game.
I honestly don't think WR should be addressed one time this off-season. It is seriously at the top of my "do not need" list. |
I agree that we could allocate our resources better than #1 WR. But it has been so long since we've had a #1 legit who wanted to play for us. Goes back to Timmy and Rice imo. I almost pretend Moss was never even here. Walker was a joke. Porter was borderline, and Art Shell poisoned that.
All in all, I could live with it assuming its a fair deal to both sides for the player who is signed |
Yea our WR has been much worse. Important thing is to let these guys develop and not at the bottom if the depth chart for a guy that cost a lot and could possibly disappoint. It hurts their development not getting the snaps. A playmaking TE makes more sense IMO. A big mismatch and redzone target we had with Boss & Zach. Fauria in the 3rd or 4th would be a dream. Less FGs. _________________
