God i hope not |
if that who chip wants, chip gets...I think he could be a good fit for chips offense if we really want to go the dual threat direction |
He isn't a dual threat QB though. He couldn't beat Tony Romo in a foot race. Sure, he has some pocket mobility, but so does everyone else in this draft. |
You obviously have never seen geno run then...
He is very fast! great athlete! but rarely runs because he is a true pass first QB, and two I think he is afraid to get hit... I think it was the Kansas state game that he took off and ran... He outran the entire field but as soon as the safety got anywhere near him he jumped out of bounds immediately...
NOt a fit for Kelly IMO as it stands, but I do think he can be a great nfl QB given the right offense though... |
We shall see. Combine is not far away. The stopwatch doesn't lie.
Outran Kansas State's defense? If that's your frame of reference, I can see why you're misinformed. |
Just the most recent example.... You should watch him play, instead of looking at the stat sheet. |
The fact of the matter is he is not a dual threat QB. He is a passer, he doesn't want to run and only runs when all other options are exhausted. I watched the majority of his games during his career, and he does not look comfortable running the ball. He doesn't have great quickness, and I don't think his top speed was very good either. As far as a passer, he can hit an open man if he doesn't have pressure. Add pressure and he becomes inconsistent. I personally would give him a 3rd round grade. |

Don't read or read into stats. Those are just a product of the system.
I watch games when I can, game cutups on the youtube and read scouting reports. All tell me his wheels are fair to middlin', and far from a "dual threat". |

I agree he is not a dual threat QB. He doesn't run much, not even in high school...
YouTube has a few vids... If I wasn't on my iPad I'd link a few. I'm not sure how to do it on this. - "geno smith run" haha.
To be honest, I think his coaches, which have all been air raid spread offense, have coached him to stay in the pocket. He does not want to be known as a dual threat QB, and seeing how the nfl has treated those players in the past I understand why. It's mental, not a physical limitation. _________________

He looks like he either was coached to not run, or just doesn't like to. I wouldn't want to put him in a position to do it often if he doesn't feel comfortable doing it. I'm sure he made some highschool defenses look silly, and he isn't a bad athlete, just not much above average for a QB at the NFL level.
I preferred watching Pat White as QB, he was fun. But no, he didn't translate to the NFL at all. I think he took one career hit, albeit a big one, and went and played baseball instead. |

But realistically Give me Teo I know I'm getting my defensive leader for the next decade we can get a pass rusher later. _________________

Pure craziness if you think we take Milliner at 3. If Star is on the board at 3, he is in Silver and Black for the next 10 years. _________________

He'll be gone long before 6. Won't last past 3, and could go higher. Best defender in the class, and a weak offensive class at the top. |

We all clicked on it though. Don't forget, that's the whole point of mock drafts this time of year. |
