I know this will get thumbs down by just about everybody that reads this but I think a head coach of Lovie Smith and keeping Chan as an OC could really work. I know it is way out in left field to consider this but he would bring some continuity to the offense and he would be great maximizing Spiller who will clearly be the featured back. I would rather have Chan than Norv Turner. okay let's hear your negative thoughts. _________________

In theory would it work? Yah I think it would, but the reality is if Lovie comes in, he is going to want his guy to be the OC, and even if he didn't, how would the guys on offense respond to Chan? I mean I am sure some guys might be loyal to him, it could create a divided locker room. _________________

Yes- I could see that being a potential problem but I think Chan is humble enough and has some nice character traits that would minimize that. _________________

As much as Chan has in the Character department, to think that he will make Spiller the feature back after miss using him all season is kind of crazy to think. Could it happen yes, but how pass happy chan got with a mediocre QB scares me. I would much rather make a clean break from the Chan era and let the new coach bring in his own coordinator. _________________

Wont happen. And to be honest I dont really like the thought either. Reason being Ryan Fitzpatrick. Chan loves Fitz too much and would want him as his QB.
Also not many guys get fired from a HC position then return as OC. _________________

I have a better controversial thought, how about bringing in Gregg Williams as a DC? _________________

I have a small place in my heart for Greggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg. He's a heck of a motivator and a good DC. I'd be happy to have him back in town (provided he's reinstated). For what it's worth, I think the last time our defense was top 5 in the league was during his tenure. |
