Just putting this out there because it is frustrating/
To those of you who want Karlos Dansby gone, get over it. He's not leaving. He would cause a $14 million dollar cap penalty. If we trade or cut him then the Dolphins would waste 1/3 of their cap space doing it. Is he an ELITE player? No but he is still a good to very good linebacker. His job is to shut running backs down in the pass game and to stuff the run. He does that very well when you watch him on tape. Can others do that? Maybe. But he also is a team leader and one of the better linebackers in the game.
Just a mini rant. Rant over. _________________

My other mini rant:
Kevin Burnett played at an All-Pro level this season. Outplayed his contract. If you sign FA you are going to pay more than they are worth. It's the name of the game.
Other ran over. The end. _________________

I don't want Dansby gone, but I do want him restructured. _________________

I would only be in favor of getting rid of him if there was no big cap hit (which there is) and IF we had an equal or greater replacement already on the roster. No need to create another hole to fill just because a good player makes a lot of money. _________________

Exactly, the guy is a good LB & I doubt hed even missed a GM.
Let him finish out this yr & then we re evaluate next yr if necessary.
Besides if we were to loose Burnnett to injury wed really be in a jam without a quality vet who can drop back n cover.

The only way I would want to get rid of Dansby is if my some slim chance we draft Teo in the first round, if not keep him. _________________

If we could land Te'o, and flip Dansby for a mid-round pick, that'd be ideal. Cap space galore AND a player who will probably be better. |

Another thing to keep in mind: what the hell else are you going to do with more money? Players only restructure when teams are in dire straights cap wise. The Dolphins have nearly $50 million to spend this offseason. _________________

Didn't the man also play the year with a partially torn biceps? Isn't that why he wore that robotic looking brace on his arm? He is definitely a leader on defense along with Cam and would create a huge void getting rid of him. Him and Burnett play well together, so it makes sense to keep it the way it is. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. _________________

I cant help think Teo has Rolando McClain or Ray Malaluga written all over.
I dont believe he has the athleticism to drop back in the NFL.
Mia needs athletic playmakers & speed.
My 2 cents

I look at Dansby and I think he is easily replaceable.....he gets his share of tackles, but can anyone remember an outstanding play by him all season? Leader...he spoke in defense of Chad Johnson, but I'm not sure how much of a locker room guy he is. _________________

...did you read anything in the first post? Also, Te'o isn't that good. "Will probably be better" is a massive jump to conclusions. |
