On the other hand, Kyle Long looked bad.

A few guys who looked good today (from what i saw on the NFLN broadcast):

Eric Fisher, OT - He was by far the most impressive Olineman, handling all dlinemen with relative ease.
Alex Okafor, DE - Best DE from what i saw. He's the only one who didn't look overmatched against Fisher.
Datone Jones, DE - Very quick for his size.
David Quessenberry, OG - I thought he did a good job in pass pro.
Desmond Trufant, CB - Fluid backpedal and breaks.

On a side note, Jason Tarver looks like a fun coach to play for.

I've been a fan of Eric Fisher for a while now. So happy he showed up and is shutting dudes down. Definitely a franchise LT.

Jordan Poyer had himself a really nice day.
Nassib looked like crap. Actually all the North QB's were not impressive.
Guards Brian Winters and Quessenberry helped their stocks out today.
Kyle Long looks better inside. Did not look good at tackle.
Justin Pugh will also have to kick inside to guard.
Dobson and Goodwin had positive days as well.

The 1 hour of coverage with commercials was not enough, but hey I'll take it.

Good bad, or bad bad?

He wasn't good as a tackle but there seems to be hope for him at the guard spot ala Gallery.

At this time he seems like a 5th or 6th.

There's probably hope if he stops holding every play and isn't getting overpowered by guys 40 pounds lighter. At some point in the full team scrimmage, Okafor pushed him back 5 yards into the QB. Okafor is 260, Long is over 300.
I think he is overrated because his name is long, just like that Matthews guy from Oregon a couple years ago.

Eric Fisher is going to be a very solid pro wherever he goes. His stock has been rising & it's not hard to see why. I just found out he went to high school with one of my best friends in Rochester Hills (I used to live in the Midwest).

As far as Long, he's a project. Whoever takes him has to work on his technique. I actually think he could be better suited at G rather than T.

Eager to see how Dysert performs.

General Notes:
The Raiders coaching staff worked for quite a while with the quarterbacks on designed rollouts. Given that their incumbent QB is Carson Palmer and he has the mobility of a Pontiac Parisienne with snow tires, it makes me wonder if they’re going to look at a QB change.

Dysert not impressing like I'd hoped

Quote:

Dysert really struggled on the first day. In the dropback drill he tends to let his back foot slide too far back, which throws off his coordination. His throwing motion is much more arm-heavy, which leads to more shoulder and elbow torque and potential for breakdown. He made a lot of reactive throws instead of anticipatory throws today, a terrible sin for NFL QBs. Again, it’s the first day of practice with unfamiliar receivers in a new offense, but when the pattern is a simple 8-yard out there’s not a lot of reason to hold the ball until the receiver is open. Dysert did that twice, and both got picked. He really struggled mechanically when rolling out, particularly to his left. On one instance he tripped over his own feet and tumbled to the ground. He was very late to deliver the ball on the rollout end zone drill, as if processing the information a little too slowly. This is correctable and I hope I see improvement as the week progresses.

Rest of the notes here..

I think seeing all the talent first hand may make them want to trade back even more. Really excited for this week.

Only question or thing I am worried about for my own well being is do teams coaching still setup interviews? In the past we have drafted at least 1-2 players a year we setup interviews with.

Of course. Our scouts will be the only NFL scouts there along with the staff from the other side. We will have total access to each and every player for as long as we like. And we can see these kids when they are off the field in their normal state and not all geeked up for an inteview. This is huge for our scouting.

Yes I know this and from a team aspect that is awesome.

I was mainly wondering from our (Fan) aspect if we will be hearing "raiders interviewed so and so" like in years past.

Good question. With our entire staff down there I would hope there is also a big contingent of Bay Area media down there to cover the thing and get that info for us.

Central Michigan OT Eric Fisher stood out today (as he did on film) with 10 3.8 inch hands, 82+ inch wingspan, and at 6'7, 305. He should impress all week the way he did on Monday morning.

If we could trade down to the anywhere around 15# I'd be all over Fisher. Road grader with great feet in pass protection. Level of competition the only knock, gets to the 2nd level so well.

Great tape.

Why would the level of competition be a knock? Did you look at their schedule?

Iowa
Michigan State
Northern Illinois
Navy
Miami

And the kid is not a road grading run blocking OT. At 6-7, 305 he is more of a pass blocking OT.

I saw a couple of clips on NFLN with our coaching staff talking to the players & picking their brains. I just want to say this again, I'm really glad that our staff is the one coaching at the Senior Bowl. Hopefully it pays dividends come April. I actually have a feeling it will.

Do you happen to know which players?
