i believe they were last week too...

I'm bringing a Packer fan with me to the game, but she's from Wisconsin and has been a lifelong fan.
It's the ones who grew up here, live here, work here, and are only a fan when the team is good....any combination of those drives me up a wall. _________________

Packers fans were ok before 1997. Of course, there were only 35 of them back then. _________________

Section 128.
I bet I stand out like a sore thumb, I'll make sure of that. |
What row? Several years ago we had seats in that section but row 59 on the aisle. This was before the renovation in 2002. _________________

I know you are trying to be funny but we've had fans before 1960. _________________

Yes, but only 35 of them.
In all seriousness, my comment was about how winning breeds fans in regions outside a team's traditional market. I've lived on the east coast (and a few other places) for quite a long time now, including before the 1997 Super Bowl. I never saw so many Packers fans in my life (not counting those in MN or WI) than after they won it all in '97. I think the Green Bay fan base quazilliatupled. And that was before Brett Favre got his mitts on a cell phone camera! _________________

What surprised the heck out of me and my hubby is how many Packers fans there are down here! There must be 4 or 5 Packer bars and they get packed with folks when the games are not shown locally. Between the Favre years and Lombardi era the Packers were absolutely horrid. Some of us older fans consider it a badge of honor to have endured those 2+ dark decades. _________________

7 PM game, most people from Wisconsin start drinking around 7 AM that's a lot of drinking time before the game.
J/K Wisconsinites |
We start at 8AM for all badger games, regardless of start time... About once a year the campus gets to enjoy 8AM-7PM drinking. My parents have also been letting me drink as much as I want since I was 16. Any alcohol jokes about wisconsin are well deserved |
Can't you order a beer at restaurants when your 16 as long as your with your parents in Wisco? |

Those were the years I remember as a kid. Ah, how i miss the good ol' days.
Should be a fun game today. I hope we win, but that the game is fun, well-played, injury-free, and shows the might of the Norris Division to the NFL world. _________________

Bakc when I was a young-in, my parents would take us into bars in La Crosse, WI and we would get a free beer (it was a little dinky glass though). I remember getting these when I was 8 years old (which would have placed it during the Harding Administration) and thought it was great! Now, I don't know what the law is in WI, but at that time it seemed reasonable. _________________ "No one can disguise mediocrity better than Bill Belichick." |
