Ray Lewis will be retiring after the playoffs. I am torn on this one, on one hand I am a steelers fan and this is obviously good for us, but on the other hand I loved watching Ray Lewis. Ray Lewis was my favorite non-Steelers player to watch. The leadership and Knowledge he brought to that team will be tough to replace.
This obviously works in our favor for next year. We all saw that team fall apart this year after he went down against Dallas. From that point on they lost games to us with 3rd string Charlie Batch, Washington with RGIII out during finish of that game, got blown out by Houston and Denver, a 4th and 29 and a bad call away from losing to the Chargers, and another close game with us playing an injured Byron Leftwhich.
Granted we definitley have our own issues goin into next year and Suggs will be back healthy but this is certainley going to help us out. Imagine if Ed Reed is gone too? I mean they are not the players they used to be, but as football minds and leaders they are great.

The GOAT for ILB. From day 1, was the foundation of spme great defenses that I loved watching. He would make a tremendous coach. Much love and respect for his approach to the game I love. _________________

IMO he and LT are 1 and 1a for best defensive players of all-time. With the Minister of Defense not far behind. |

I doubt Ray will retire in Clovis New Mexico so I'm safe. _________________ Stay low boys.... keep those feet moving!

I think his prime is good enough that even with him being overrated for a lot of his later years he's still arguably a top 5 all-time defender and has a good argument for top ILB.
I wouldn't even consider placing him at the level of White though.
That said, he should retire. His best years on the field are well behind him, and he spent a good chunk of this year injured. If the Ravens still want his vocal and locker room leadership I'm sure they could find a coaching staff position for him or something, but they need to start getting younger on the field. _________________ Geno Smith, Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, and Bruce Irvin will all have at least 1 pro bowl season each by the end of the decade.

Let's knock off the murder talk. Webby already said that's off-limits. _________________

| top 5 NFL defensive leaders of all time. Not sure worthy of his play on the field though. Maybe a top 5 linebacker of all time though. |

GOAT at jumping on the pile after the play is over. As mentioned, hugely overrated. Can't wait to see him in Dancing With the Stars 2015. _________________

There's a difference between being top 3 at your specific position (which Ray Lewis might be) and top 3 of every defensive position. Not to mention, I don't think the safety class is as strong a class as the linebacker one. Still tough though with Dawkins, Lott, Reed, Shell, and a lot of older players who are less known. |

Who the hell said anything about Troy?
Thats right...nobody...except you trying to make some kind of point.
Nice eye roll though.
Anyway....Ray is definitely one of the best defenders ever and possibly the greatest ILB ever. Definitely the best ILB of this generation.
Top 5 defender all time though? Ehh....he has a case, but Id say there are probably at least 10 who have better or just as good of an argument to be there. _________________
