Cleveland's drafted well as of late.

Heckert's only been there for 3 drafts though. They've made some nice picks, Joe Haden (7th overall), Mitchell Schwartz (2nd round) and TJ Ward (2nd round) to name a few but the McCoy pick didn't pan out and I personally hate the Weeden pick. It'd be more than fair to question his ability to evaluate a QB.

Agreed.

Weeden was a reach

Though he has done alright this year.

Some of his other picks were good.

The TJ Ward pick was canned at the time, but he has played pretty good.

So was that DL they took last year, Sheard.

@mikejurecki: Michael Bidwill interviewed Ray Horton today, focusing on Andy Reid/ Tom Heckert joining the Cardinals. Reid could bring Pat Shurmur as OC.

Shurmur is a guy I really don't know how I feel about. Didn't like him in St. Louis at all, very conservative, very predictable offense. Held Sam Bradford back. Little different in Cleveland though. Thought he was more open to ideas playcalling wise, got vertical in the passing game more often but in a turn of events, Weeden held him back. Not sure if I like or dislike him.

Bolded: Weeden ranked 27th our of 32 in completion percentage this season (57.4 %) and and 29th of 32 in QB rating (72.6). And because he's already 29 years old (30 in October), he's got little room to grow. I thought that pick was terrible.

Brad Childress? Eh. Rather have Shurmur if I had to choose. Childress cou;dn't develop a QB either. Endorsed and then whiffed on Tavaris Jackson.

On the positive side of things, an Andy Reid/Tom Heckert regime would damn sure invest in the offensive line. Numerous 1st and 2nd round offensive lineman taken by those 2 guys' regimes and that doesn't include the big trade they made for Jason Peters.

I do love that.

Weeden was a reach, no arguements there.

Though they had no QBs on that roster, so they had to do something.

It wasn't an ideal situation, almost where we are at the moment.

We need to get a QB for this team, somehow, last man standing type thing.

Having Reid here attracts FA.

Maybe some people are going to have their heads turned about coming here.

Maybe a certain LT from Miami for Dez.

That's the problem though. They needed a QB, desperate situation, so they panic and reach for Weeden and esentially wasted a first round pick. That's the opposite of what we should do here. That WILL set this team back, regardless of how well Andy Reid coaches.

They've had a home in the Valley for years, I think I even know where it is.
