We get the Ross question pretty often:
Not sure about Gettleman but this is impressive:
| Quote: | | Gettleman has been a part of six Super Bowl teams, including three winners. He was with Buffalo in 1990 and 1991, Denver in 1997 and the Giants in 2000, 2007 and 2011. The Broncos and the 2007 and 2011 Giants both won the championship. Gettleman has been associated with 13 playoff teams in his NFL career. |

Marc Ross would satisfy the Rooney rule. He's clearly and up and coming talent evaluator.
I think the ideal candidate for the Panthers is Tom Gamble from the 49ers. Other candidates could be in the Seahawks FO, who have done a tremendous job drafting over the past few years. |

Panthers hire Gettleman and the Chiefs hire Ross. The Browns can have Pioli. As a Chiefs fan, I would be happy with this. _________________

Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross has emerged as a leading candidate to become the Panthers next general manager, per sources. |
Well, its bound to happen sometime. Hope it doesn't hinder our scouting process. _________________

Yeah, but Ross is a pretty good talker. If he's the leader at this point I expect the job to be his. _________________

Disagree. They havent all worked out but if anything the coaching staff hasn't developed the talent. All these guys have a lot of talent and justified why they were picked were (weather its athletic ability, play on the field, etc).
| Quote: | Round Selection Player Position College
1 19 Prince Amukamara CB Nebraska
2 52 Marvin Austin DT North Carolina
3 83 Jerrel Jernigan WR Troy
4 117 James Brewer OT Indiana
5 [a]
6 185 Greg Jones LB Michigan State
6 198 [b] Tyler Sash S Iowa
202 [b] Jacquian Williams LB South Florida
7 221 Da'Rel Scott RB Maryland |
Very good starting CB. High potential DT that got hurt last year. Needs another year at least to prove himself. Jerrel has been a bust. Brewer hasn't gotten a shot yet. Olinemen need time, especially one that was raw like him. Jones was a good special teamer (what more do you ask for a 6th round pick?). Sash is a good ST. Jacquian is a good starting caliber LB. Scott is a good special teamer.
| Quote: | Round Selection Player Position College
1 32 David Wilson Running Back Virginia Tech
2 63 Rueben Randle Wide Receiver LSU
3 94 Jayron Hosley Cornerback Virginia Tech
4 127 Adrien Robinson Tight End Cincinnati
131 Brandon Mosley Offensive Tackle Auburn
6 201 Matt McCants Offensive Tackle UAB
7 239 Markus Kuhn Defensive Tackle NC State |
Potential star RB. Weaknesses were pass protection and ball security. He has improved and will improve on both and be at the very least a good RB. Randle has already shown he can at least be a deep threat. He can be a star receiver. Hosley has been up and down. Very good ability, but somewhat raw. Robinson is a good blocker with receiving talent but is raw. Olinemen need time. Especially one thats a converted TE and small school raw OT. Kuhn has been good. _________________

Ross is interviewing for Jets and Chargers jobs in addition to the Panthers.
Very likely he is gone soon. _________________
